How I Broke The $10,000 A Month Mark

I wanted to share some information that will help you along the way if you are struggling
with some of the most popular earnings programs. I am currently at the 5 figure a month level and beyond with my blogs.

My old static html websites were all converted in Jan. of 2010 to wordpress. I kept the page hierarchy and reset them all in order by copy/pasting the text I did not want to lose. I have seen a major increase in visitors from that time. My stats were horrible back then, but as time went on and I had added plugins and other changes, something happened.

I have since that time outgrew servers at Bluehost, and most all of Hostgator. I am currently at level 9 vps and it is tweaked a great deal just to handle the server load. So..what the heck did I do? Besides just your normal linking and making sure there was fresh content, I had built a large keyword base and had used wprobot to add a large amount of related back-end content that had Amazon, clickbank and of course adsense ads in them.

But really..what the heck is the main ingredient? I would have to say in all honesty that I used almost exclusive use of programs available here on Warrior Forum. I have bought a few WSO's, not as many as some people, but a few. I was really careful with what money I had to spend that was extra, and that was not much.

I had a fairly cheap hosting plan, it lasted until the resources used were so much I got almost booted from Bluehost. They shut me down so many times from overuse of resources they actually got a bit mad at me. The main problem was, I had way to much traffic for a shared hosting service.

I had to find a new home, being without a hosting plan that had the power for me was not an option. I looked all over and decided that maybe Hostgator could handle the traffic. I signed up and spent the time getting the move of my blogs over to their service. That's a hassle I do not want to repeat, so be careful where you start your blogs in the first place.

I did an entry level service called the business plan. This seemed like a good fit. But, I was to find out that this would not last long. After a fairly short time, I found that my blogs had been shut down again! I called support and they said the same old thing..overuse of resources. I was really hitting the servers in this same type of shared hosting, I thought maybe because the base level of power I had ordered would last a bit longer.

I was wrong with that assumption! My next server level was vps level 3. I was looking at yet another server move and if my blogs files were corrupted, I would be sunk. (My blogs were so huge, file moves had become a manual process only). I gave it some thought on that day and asked for advice from a server specialist, they said go to level 5 right away or you may be in trouble.

This server level lasted about 60 days, I was going along fine and one day my cpanel would not load. I asked for confirmation and yes..you guessed it. I had blown out a level 5 vps. Well, next case I thought to myself. I had to get this under control and right now. I ordered via email my upgrade to level 7.

More time goes by, my income has almost hit my long term retirement goals. I was really killing it for traffic, but it all could go away if I was not vigilant with my server. My impressions had hit 2,125,000 for the past month, it was going really well.

Going well until I went to my cpanel to do some work, oops. It crawled and finally loaded. I looked at any error messages and found that same old indicator, I had to upgrade again! I had a great support person who had owned his own hosting company come in and take a look again. He had set some things up for optimization before and it was helping, I had just outgrown my memory allowed on this level.

He took a look and advised may need an upper level dedicated server, but took a second look and said hang on, let me try some things. I did end up ordering a level 9 vps that day. He did go in and set it up to offload some of the load on a nice offsite service.

The moral of this story is..If you do not have a lot of traffic for your sites, then you may not be able to make as much money from them as you like.

My goals set by my wife of 9k a month has come and went for my retirement. I still have miles to go before I feel I can truly do that, but the money level is now there. I hit over 11k for January this year from all of my income methods employed on my sites.

I use above the fold ads for adsense just like they suggest you do in ebooks and also Google themselves. I use a small variety of ad types, large rectangle top center, and wide skyscraper both left and right. I name each as individual channels for tracking, this will help you confirm in your own mind what Google has already told you works. Follow the heat map they show and it is right on.

I use a 3 column wordpress template I built myself with artisteer. There has been some small tweaks done to it, like removing or no-following the default links, but other than that it is a stock template. I like the way it shows all ads above the fold. My content gets hit on getclicky web stats about every 3 seconds around the world. I also have a visual sitemap.

There are ways to get better Amazon listings by using actual item model numbers, but I do not always use this as my title. I have played around with different post models and have tested over the last year to find what works best for me.

The front end of my blog is always hand written content. Content I wrote or hired a professional writer to do for me. I started out with only myself as I could not afford to pay anybody. I have been there like everybody else has.

My traffic has doubled every month for many months in a row. This is why I had to upgrade server level many times over the past year. I have over 48k pages on my main blog, I get a ton of repeat visitors each month. It all runs on autopilot and brings fresh visitors everyday like clockwork. I can look at my clock on the wall and roughly guess what my income is for that time of day.

The automated portion of this works like a charm. I can sit and watch getclicky and see all of the people coming in from around the world and what brought them to my site.

My current indexed pages is around this.. site: blah-blah About 56,500 results, and just from one website.

My Alexa rank has built up nicely over the past year, I have passed a lot of websites in the dust.

I would like to thank the following warriors for making this all work for me..

Yes it is. I read so much here and joined the war room, that helped a lot and read what others had done. I wanted to share my story here in the general forum section for all to see, not just the fine folks in the war room. I feel it was needed here to show that it can be done.

You really can start out with a very low budget, work the methods monthly and start the income rolling in. Each month it got better, and finally it was like the search engines opened a fire hose up on me instead of the broken garden hose with electrical tape holding it together.

I was surprised to say the least, I had a goal in mind and never let go of it. When the traffic hit me, I was in a bit of shock. Each month the doubling of traffic and income was almost to good to be true. But it kept on. I kept wondering if it would ever hit a ceiling of sorts, it has not. I see some leveling, but it directly relates to what my server can handle. And that's a good tip for all.

Yes, I am getting most from adsense and the rest from amazon and few sales from clickbank. I recently just added ultimate footer ad slide up program and we will see if it increases my cb sales. I am using generic ads with none of the supplied templates. I use only text in those ads.

I was not to be defeated, I kept at it until I saw some income rolling in and ramped it up.

  • Couple quesitons:

    a) How do you generate income? Is it just ads, 3rd party produts/ something else?
    b) Are you actually building a 'business', or is just it just gaming the search engines? If the latter, you should be aiming for something that ads value as opposed to just short term income (although 10k/month is good).

Hello, ads are just as described. I write for my own blog as I am an actual professional with years of experience in that chosen field. So, there is value added to the net as a whole. I leave my gaming to online shooters...lol.

I have had this website and others for years. My oldest is from 1999. I only recently moved to the wordpress platform.

You Bet!..I will do what I can to answer folks who have questions and not steer them wrong. I wanted to provide some baseline examples of what extreme traffic can do to a server and how a person should be prepared for the needed upgrades on resources. My tip to all would be to have some kind of headroom available at a hosting company so in case things heat up quickly, you can make your move (upgrade) and save the day.

I just wanted to jump in and congratulate Jim for his success. Jim is a good friend of mine and student who literally took a site with Zero income to a full Six-Figure business in just six months.

I have been amazed at the traffic he has been getting and the servers he has been melting. I can personally say that Jim has been an inspirational figure in my members area and has spawned a new wave of interest in autoblogging.

    All the best

Jim, first of all congratulations and thanks for taking the time to share your results.

Sean Donahoe mentioned that your success has spawned a new interest in autoblogging, but I gathered from your posts that most of the relevant content on your sites was either written by you or by professional writers that you hired.

So are you using a hybrid original content/autoblogging method?

Can you elaborate on your methods for getting traffic to your sites?

      Thanks,

      Will

It is a combination of main unique content on pages in wordpress, and combined content in posts. I do hire some content written for me, so the front end is all hand written either by me or hired and the other is syndicated.

  • As you don't let on in your post, I'm assuming since one of your blogs has soo many pages, have you built a couple of authority sites or do you have a lot of sites hosted to make what you are earning?

Also you say it is automated, does that mean your content is automated or is it all original? I did read that you pay sometimes for content but even so 48 k pages is a lot of pages and unless you've had a dedicated writing team over the last few years working for you I don't think a one man army or a few VAs for that matter could write that many pages

Well done on the income btw!

Hello, I have 16 active blogs. Only 4 bring the main income and one in particular that I mention in my stats above with pages indexed. I did write a lot over the last year, I have rss feeds for my industry news that post daily as well. I did not write them all of course, but I have employed writers for themed content and keyword specific content.

The 56,500 indexed pages is from one of my authority blogs. The main one actually and one that I have 16 years experience to speak about when I do write for it. Experience counts, and it may even sound corny, blog what your passion is. I did that and the search engines love it. I added some back end filler with items for sale among with other posts, but the main flavor is what I write in a lot of cases.

I do use some software to help with promotion when I publish a page or just a post, it helps get some traction. I try to vary what I do and not repeat the same thing over and over. Some days I use the software and some not.

I hope that helped a bit..

Hello, this problem chased me for a long time. My tactic had worked very well and I had to be vigilant after crashing servers many times. I could watch my income for that time of day and knew there was something that needed investigation if it was not at the level it needed to be.

I did not have this problem and no experience with it before, so it caught me off guard. I had not worried to much about server resource level. It was a real learning experience. I was advised my only other option now was to consider preparing for a move to theplanet.com if I blow up the servers at hostgator.

Level 9 vps with a lot of tweaks and extra help should hold for awhile, we will see.

      Thanks,

Very Good!..we need all we can get up here in ol' Montana. Not much work in the remote portions like where I live. It's 84 miles round trip to the grocery for me. We end up stocking a lot of food and other supplies in winter. The extra income makes it easier to get those extras and not worry about doodly squat until breakup (spring).

I have never looked back after converting all my websites to wordpress. The plugins that you can use is the key to viral traffic. I would say it is never to late to take your content and put it on text files or notepad, then move it over. It worked for me and no penalty.

You have a lot more control on what the visitor sees, and updates with content are quick.

I think the only servers left that can handle the traffic will be from theplanet.com. It's all rental, I do not have the knowledge to just go out and buy a hosting server and get it setup.

I have a list of plugins that would choke a mule. There are quite a few I have tried, but search term tagging 2 is one of the top ones.

Software programs are Backlink Booster by Sean Donahoe
      Firestorm SEO by Sean also

If you just had a few programs to get, these would get your traffic started. You must do the basic linking stuff like press releases and vary your linking strategies, keep it as normal as possible in appearance.

I used Daniel Tan's press release wso, I think it is still for sale if you search.

I did some profile links too, I just did not get carried away with it.

Rob Fore has an article blast available across a blog network. Use two anchor text links to a network and watch thousands of links come in over time.

Great story and congrats on your success.

I'm not familiar with Sean or his work so my question is,
is the bulk of your traffic from organic search engine results
    or PPC?

The way he described it, it's gotta be mostly organic traffic, don't you think? With all that content being consistently added, his sites must now rank for all sorts of keywords and that's the reason his traffic has exploded exponentially. No?

Hi Kim, I do add content as I get time to write. I use terms that relate to my chosen industry and can write accordingly. I was an actual instructor in this field for my main blog, this went on for over 8 years as instructor. I have a lot of stories to tell. I do hire some content written and use many of Sean's programs to help keep me up top.

With well over 56k pages indexed, I have a lot of visits daily. My main strategies have been firestorm seo, backlink booster, link magnets, to name the most popular.

I am branching out to my other blogs that have not been hit as hard. I am using the same strategies named here and we will see how it goes.

One tip I had was writing as much as you can for your topic, find related subjects in the news for your target subject and get busy writing. Let the programs support what you do, but unique content seems to be a major factor. I can see my visits rise and my income with it when I decide to write. I stay at a minimum 350 words...but as you can see I am bit "talky", and can write a 750-1000 word post with not much effort.

It was not always like that, I had to teach myself better writing techniques...

Hello, Sean's programs work very well. With him being a former hosting company owner and security admin for online enterprise, he knows how to code. I got to watch him in person write his own plugins and other types of work. I do not buy traffic, it is all through organic search.

Firestorm seo is the main culprit is killing servers. I have done that many times, and it has been a learning experience for me. You will not be able to use a shared hosting environment for very long using this method. Your "neighbors" will be a bit ticked at you for taking all the bandwidth...lol.

There is plenty of room to use this method as it has stayed fresh and not faded into the night. I have this method employed on a permanent basis, it keeps me in visitors daily.

Hello, of course I am, w3total cache plugin. I have only so many resources available on a given server level. You can cache a page and it may help some, there are other server items to consider.

At any given time there will be up to 40 people on my main blog, they use up the memory and with each "call" of php, they use cpu as well.

Trust me.. I have had to upgrade so many times to keep my sites from taking a minute to load, it's wild.

I use a 3 column template, that way all my ads are right up there above the fold. The whole above fold area is ads. The content is below. Many of my pages are so long it wears out your fingers scrolling. I have not seen any problems with a lot of my content. If I find a syndicated post that has questionable value and slips through my keyword filters, I just delete it along with the keywords used to find it in search terms tagging. It has not hurt my traffic a bit.

I have one blog in IM, but it is not the main player..

I sell Amazon and a few clickbank products, they seem to do ok. I get a lot of my Amazon stuff I buy for free. I get paid in certificate form as credit, and I spend it on what I want, like books or games..

Hello, if you are on a shared business plan for example, there is a ceiling to what you are allowed to use as far as resources. When you take up to much of these and hurt your neighbor on that same box, you get shut down like I did, multiple times actually.

They are really serious over there as far as security team and sever integrity. I had virtual alarms going off over there and they actually shut me down with no warning. I had eaten up so much of what was available, I was on their list of sorts to watch. It was all good in the end. I explained what I was doing and they did not find anything wrong with that, I just had to much traffic for my server level.

I only mention this if you folks plan to use the same programs I use for traffic. I warned hostgator that I got a huge amount of traffic, I think they believe me now..lol

@Jminkler - Lets put it this way, there are a lot of things going on behind the scenes and even with all the database caching and page caching there is a lot of demand on a server with 2 million visitors a month. We also have a lot of special scripts and plugins working in the background that need the server resources that you just cannot get with a shared box.

Just a 2c for technical geekery

Hi Jack, it so true that you can lead a horse to water but...

I am giving a lot of inside tips here. I have identified the exact culprit in what kills servers. It's all up to the person reading as to when they will go look at what I have mentioned and take action. I was so sick and tired of guru bs and lies, I was bound and determined to find my own way and use some real world tools that came from the forum here.

I was not to be defeated like I have said. I had to find a true path and not waver from it. I knew I could make a living online again like I had back in 1999. A lot of things had changed so dramatically that I had to learn a whole new set of skills. No one person had shown me the light, I had to find that light.

My old 1975 harley had been sitting in disrepair for so many years while I was away at my chosen profession working. I was able to rebuild it this past week, and hear her fire for the first time. It like a baby being born to me. I had a major part of my life returned to me that had been missing for so long. I have been a biker in my heart since the age of 9, my first harley I bought when I was 16. I had my first big twin at 18.

There is nothing to me like the first screams of an 80 cubic inch shovelhead. Yeah Baby!

It would hard to say, I have not kept a tally of what I wrote in the past. I write naturally and try to keep it as themed as possible. I talk about the economy in my field and how it is effected by outside forces. I relate to what resources my profession uses and how it effects the bottom line.

All of the front pages is hand written, but I have added many posts over the past year or so. I would say that syndicated content far outweighs what I wrote for sure. But, it seems to fine as it is allowed syndication and not just scraped and re-posted content.

I have the server set with all the tweaks and even some new ones that were developed just for this kind of traffic I get.

getclicky stats as of now..for only one blog. I have 4 that rock the traffic, and more that are building up and getting more indexing.

Hello, I have looked at my sites value, but to be honest, I am keeping all of them for now due to the evergreen nature of the income. It took awhile to build it, I don't want to do that again for awhile. My blogs are built more as an authority site model, a lot of initial work.

    Great post Jim!

Are you targeting inner pages with your press releases or the main page?
And are you doing any website directory submissions?

I did use two anchor text links, one at the main and one inner page. I varied it over time and tried different pages just for grins. I later on purchased some other software and use it in a non-spammy way and try to add value to my submissions. It helps to have some automation, but a person can get carried away and hurt others by promoting the same thing over and over.

Hey Jim, if you don't mind another question, do you think you could achieve the kind of traffic you are currently receiving without all the plug-ins you have installed?

I think there may be a drop of sorts, I did have to disable all pugins once for bluehost before they would turn my sites back on. The security team was being a pain the backside. I did that and my traffic slowly climbed once again. The firestorm script IS the main culprit here..

Thanks again for the response, Jim.

What is it about the firestorm script that makes it the "main culprit" - the script takes up a lot of memory and causes your site to load relatively slowly? Something like that?

In your view, what exactly is the main benefit of running the firestorm script? May I ask that?

Hi Kim, the firestorm program is whole seo type of program, yes there is a script, but it is actually much much more than that. It is total training on getting the most from your blog. It is the main traffic getter. You just have to be prepared to upgrade hosting and have backups for when your site has to move to a larger server. Shared hosting will only last a short while when you use that method. It is directly related to my income. I cannot be more blunt about it.

The training had videos and pdf materials to help you along. I was able to use most all of the methods in there and it has exploded my traffic stats and of course the income that came along with it.

My content is related of course directly to my subject and not always related to a single keyword. I try to do what may be called themed article content and write naturally for people and not search engines. I try to make sure the minimum word count is 350. But, I do go way past that in many cases. Some of my content may have some interest from a T.V. series that is directly related to my profession.

I have the real world experience that drives people to do searches related to this profession. You can read between the lines and apply accordingly.

You bet Chris, I did put a lot of time in to writing and setup in the first days. I still spend time keeping things going, but it's like an automatic thing. I can go to the mechanic shop and help with working on my bike and my sites are still making money without me tending the flock. I like that part. I can go about my daily business with my main profession and have that blog income rolling in along with my other so-called job.

I have been able to do a slow-down of sorts with my main work and be at home for the first time in over a decade to be with my wife. It's a very strange thing in some ways, we have to learn how to live together all over again...lol.

You can replicate what I did. I floundered around trying different things and found one thread of success that rang across many people. It was the blogging platform. It is very versatile and can be made into your very own model and what you want it to do. There so many ways to use wordpress, I just happened to want something that would run automatically and not need me to babysit. I found that path and am sharing it here.

Stick with your plan, you recognize that you have a chosen path. A lot of folks don't have that figured out yet and stumble along. The key here is to have a vision of what needs to be done and get started on that path to their goals...

Thanks Tonio, I just added for example 3 new fresh articles to an up and coming blog, I saw that even when my new blog did not get much extra traffic, the content was noted on my account as a whole and it seems it brought more visitors. Hard to explain or prove. But I estimate what I should have in my account and I am not usually off by more than a few dollars, unless you have a major traffic day like today.

Today is one of those days where my normal flow is way off, I should have $400 day. I am usually at about $235 at 3 pm mountain, I am at $293 currently.

      $293.05
      Today's estimated earnings
      $18,302.04
      Estimated unpaid earnings
      $9,766.39
      Last payment (Jan 25, 2011)

      Balance at end of January

Congratulations to you on this and hope this only continues to grow for you, Jim!

The only thing I would be nervous about is the search engine traffic suddenly stopping for some unexpected reason. But, I think, you are offsetting the likelihood of that happening by continually updating your sites with content - both original and syndicated (and whatever kind of backlinking you continue to do).

        Does that sound about right?

Hi Kim, I have weathered every Google update and mayday known to googlekind..lol. My sites have stayed in the top no matter what they did with updates or changes to the search engine itself. I write as I speak, I don't care if the search engines like it or not, and I speak my mind. They must like it or they would have dumped me a long time ago.

I do in all fairness include the keyword and themed content for a nicely researched article inclusion. They like it and come running. I think there is a tent in my front yard that has some lil' googlebot looking troll hanging out. I hear the refrigerator door open in the night, I know who it is...haha..

Backlink booster is one major player, I have done press releases and profile linking. I threw a lot of stuff at the wall and wanted to see what stuck there. I guess it worked, because I am busy now just writing and hiring writers to help out.

Cool story to read ,and congrats to your success , your post made me think about something once you reach similar levels , would'nt it be better to host the server yourself at home ? like with optic fiber slowly coming to be available in big citys..but it need high upload rate , maybe a business internet plan ,cost too much though ? and the price of the server of course , which is alot .

by the way it's cool to see some FPS players here too i play also L4d2 , havent played MW2 in a while though , and mostly battlefield bad company vietnam with some friends .

Hi Itachi, I cannot get a T1 line out here where I live or even aT2. I have looked into it, but I live 138 miles from the nearest backbone server to try and host myself. Remote Montana is great, but there are limits to what I can do out here and having my current hosting seems to be my only choice.

I passed the business plan level on my way to vps or virtual private server. I can go dedicated there, but the plan would be to go somewhere that has higher resources available to me.

I have both BF vietnam old and new versions. I like to play any of those.

You are correct. The bulk comes from adsense. I do not build any list currently. I had a sour taste from that a year ago. I stopped doing that. My hours available to write last year was limited so a degree. I would work my long shift and write what I could before I passed out. I did not have time for an autoresponder. I know, I should have tried again. Maybe later. I just didn't want to interrupt the flow of visitors and their interaction with my sites.

Working 14 hour days and longer, my time that was available to me as spare time of sorts was spent building this model. I had a great motivation, I could not go on many more years in my field and take the beating. I needed to make some life changes. Pain is a great motivator, it will cause you to seek your goals until your last waking moment to end the problems.

We do what we have to, I had reached all of my short and long term goals in that industry, it was time for new goal set to work for. The moral is, set your goals and have a clear path, do not let anything get in your way and you will find your place.

Firestorm is more the owner's personal method for ranking a site rather than installing certain scripts the owner also sells? I did visit the sales page, watched the video, and honestly couldn't get much of an idea what it was about other than SEO and setting up a WP blog.

Hi Kim, I took a nap..sorry. I know that firestorm is a complete model for getting your blog to the viral traffic level. There are things you can do with seo on your blog and of course add the script that will cause your blog to grow in traffic automatically each and every month. I would say this little program is what took me to the level I am now.

The wordpress platform has a lot of things you can do with it. Using this program will do very well for you. There are others who have done the same thing with this method and they are seeing the same kind of traffic I am..

                        Jim
Thanks again, Jim. So, do you think that the hosting you have now with Hostgator is going to be able to handle future traffic increases? If you had to it over again, what kind of hosting would you sign up for to prevent the problems experienced last year?

Over $400 a day in mostly Adsense is excellent. What's the plan now? More niches and to try and increase traffic further with the sites that are earning for you?

Hi Kim, if I had to do it all over again, I would make sure the hosting company had room to grow as far as headroom for server usage. Look for upper level plans that you can have your files transferred to by the server admins. They will do the work for you on an upgrade.

I have many blogs that have not had the work put into them like my main 4 have. I plan to hire more writing and get those front pages built. Wprobot is building the backend now with products related to the subject and yahoo answers posts. I get a lot of traction from those allowed syndication posts.

I am new and don't understand very much of what you are saying or what you mean-- but hopefully with time will figure it out.

You are in the right place here. Hang around, ask questions and do a lot of reading. Find a path that seems right for you, make a plan and stick with it. To much bouncing around can be detrimental to success.

Fantastic story! I love the simplicity in your online strategy! Newbies needed to read about a real success story that didn't come with a complicated system, and actually doable.

Congratulations on reaching your financial accomplishments and your IM success! I truly wish you more!

Thanks, this is very doable for anyone. There is some investment and work involved at the start, but anything worth having is. I did use my limited resources and picked and chose what I would spend on, some purchases were bad like anybody else, but I moved on and tried to find that one person who had something that worked as advertised. I did find that in firestorm.

You can get started for a fairly small amount of money. Hosting and domain name costs. You can add the purchase of the training programs I mentioned and you will still be ahead. There are some really great resources here just waiting, I am trying to help folks see what really does work with no bs.

A lot of wordpress plugins are free. You can add things like wprobot, firestorm seo and the cost for a real business is still very low.

Thanks, it took awhile, but after my main blog got traction it was only a short few months before it was serious money coming in. Finally something had worked and worked well. I could attribute the whole thing to the firestorm program.

Thanks, gsniper methods are good. I used a few of those types of methods when building my blogs. I see that the principle is sound and works. A blog can reach good traffic levels and have a ton of listings with the correct format. Search term tagging plugin was a real help along with the firestorm program as a whole. I still go back and watch the videos over and over to make sure I have done everything I could have done.

My shovel will be alive on the road I hope when the ice melts here. I cannot wait to twist the wick and rocket down the road.

I like the way I have control over what my template looks like down to every detail on color and format. Some people out in the IM world did not care for artisteer templates for some reason. I have tried their suggestions and was not seeing what I see with a template of my own creation as far as income.

    Hey Jim,

Congratulations for making it. Keep it up and you should see more success in the very near future. I hope this is an inspiration to the newbies in here. When you work at it and focus on a single goal. You will succeed.

Remember there isn't a magic bullet that's gonna make you a quick buck. If you want to build an online business that will secure you financially then treat it like it is (a business).

Hello, I do believe that a person who takes this seriously can and will succeed. I treat writers I hire with the respect they deserve as with any business. I also enjoy helping others as with this thread I started. It's all in the mindset to look at this and know that there is a lot of misinformation and hype out there, you really do have to weed out the garbage to find the gems.

The approach for me was to find a business model I could work with. My requirements were
      these..

I had to have something that would allow me to let it run and not have to watch it or fulfill orders.

I really didn't have time to do an email list and come up with new content on a regular basis, other that what I chose to write for my blog. I also did not have the monthly budget for monthly fees.

I knew there was a way to let a website just be there and allow people to read and interact with it and make some residual income.

I tried many different approaches with ads and experimented with a lot of ad networks before deciding to give adsense another try.

    Jim,

Just to summarize what is generating $10k per month for you is the following:
    1. 16 Active blogs --
    A. 4 blogs bring in the main income
    B. 1 blog has 56,500 indexed google pages (Are these 56K pages unique or autoblogged)
    2. Traffic Generation Methods
    A. Unique content on the front page (not sure how much or how often on each of the 16)
    B. RSS Feeds
    C. employed writers for themed & keyword specific content (not sure on your actual expenses on this)
    D. Autoblogged content on the back end
    E. Syndicated content -- (not sure if this is only RSS feeds or scraped & re-formated and whether or not it's syndicated internally or externally)
    3. Tools Using
    A. Firestorm SEO script -- and lessons from the program
    B. Wordpress
    C. WP plugins ( not sure which ones specifically)
    4. Key Element to surpass the $10k mark: Getting a VPS-9 server

    Is this correct?
    Questions:
    1. How often are you syndicating & autoblogging & adding new RSS feeds?
    2. What is the breakdown of your weekly/monthly expenses?
    3. How many writers are you actually using?
    4. Over what period of time is the 56k indexed pages? Posted in the last 6 months over 10 years?

Congrats on your success. It seems you have achieved a certain methodology that is working for you.
Somethings are a bit unclear. I think we can all agree that the easy part is creating unique content for you blog. Based on what I gathered from your writing, it seems as the key elements come down to
    1. High volume of autobloged/syndicated content and 2. Quality servers.

    What's really missing is understanding:

    1. Is your content on your blogs being syndicated OUT to other blogs? If so, are they Web2.0 sites? And how many? and how often?
OR: Are you receiving syndicated content from other sources and placing it on your site?
    2. Are you re-writing the autoblogged content or do you let it run as is? Do you customize the template of the autoblog format or do you just use the standard? Are you using only 1 type of autoblog program?
    3. You have 4 blogs that bring in the main income. How often are you creating content for the 4 blogs versus the other 12?
    4. Besides writing the content what other actions are taking place? Meaning, are you pinging, bookmarking, submitting to web2.0 sites, commenting? If so, how long does it take for you to market or build traffic just to 1 site?

Hopefully, I and others can get a better understanding of the success you have. As, based on your initial post, it seems as the only thing that made a difference to achieve $10k was getting VPS hosting. I'd hope to get a clearer understanding of what you do.

Hi Darrin, I did the wordpress conversion. I used some free plugins at the time that wprobot was coming out to the front and wpmage was being released. I used the free versions to experiment with.

There are two sets of questions so I will do what I can to answer.

I did the conversion in Jan. of 2010. The wordpress platform took over and the rss feeds along with it. I was adding some written content from the start and looking for tips just as you are.

I have a current writer now, my last writer moved on in life as this happens. I am just now putting up this new content as pages in one of my newer blogs. It has worked well so far and this writer does a good research job.

The 56k pages indexed are at the current date, and started with just a few back in Jan. 2010. It has taken a full year to reach that level.

Quality hosting or at least having a higher level available seems to be a critical portion to keep your income flow coming in. Server shutdowns can be costly, and let you slip in rank if they stay down for an extended period. VPS servers allow for root access and much more tweaking than a regular cpanel access.

All sites have something towards content running in the background, either rss or wprobot. It all depends completely on your keyword list and if all syndicated posts have been exhausted due to running out of available content for those keywords.

I add content myself when I feel the urge. When I have an idea, I try to get it down and just start writing. It is not always easy to write good content, I have had plenty of writers cramps.

I have changed my templates in wprobot and have tried to mix it up and have multiple campaigns running. This adds a different flair for the reader.

Backlink booster does my web 2.0 posting. I use this program to give my articles with anchor text links another bit of juice to help them out.

Link magnets work very well. I use this program that Sean built and have tried most all that he has that fits in my business model.

All I have to say is WOW! What a great set of questions, made my fingers do some walking..

Reading your post was sweet. You actually said " I can look at my clock on the wall and roughly guess what my income is for that time of day." Its any internet marketers dream: to have so much traffic that your web host keeps calling you for an upgrade. I wish i could just see everything you have put together.

Hello, I had estimated earlier today that it would be a $400 day. I was right, I could see the trend and I am now at..
      10:35 pm mountain
      $409.49
      Today's estimated earnings

I may actually hit a new all-time high My record was $417. It may break that. Keep in mind that Google is on west coast or pacific time. My earnings don't stop on a calender day until 1 am my time.

I like the traffic of course, I just have to watch closely my stats and my income. I got that way with a clock so I could look for problems with my hosting getting bogged down and costing me a lot of money.

Hi Jim, Thanks for all the work you've put into this thread helping people.

You have made various references to wordpress plug ins but I could not find much detail. As you and many others have said, plugins are critical so I have my wordpress blog set up with a number of plugins ie

        Audit Trail
        Google XML Sitemaps
        OnlyWire Multi Autosubmitter

Don't think I'm doing it correctly. If you could list the plug ins you use, that would be extremely helpful.

Hello, holler if you need help. Some there are paid versions and the rest are free. There is a lot of setup settings for each that need to be done in order to get the most out of them, I spent a lot of time doing this and it worth the trouble.

Hi Smartdoctor, As soon as I saw you were from Kenya, a song came to my mind from years ago. I hope you don't mind this funny video..

      Only in Kenya!..

      kenya - Weebl's Stuff

I was singing this in my head..and that was a long time ago when I heard it.

You can follow what I am doing and do the same thing. There is no stopping anyone from doing it. I started without much of a budget at all. I worked my way up over time and it has been a real challenge to stay on top of things as it grew.

Just make sure if you do any flying, you have that parachute or a very large pillow at the bottom...lol

Hello, I have my wprobot set to post content either in 2 ways, as published or draft. I can then inspect the material and either approve or reject what I see for quality purposes. My whole goal here was to get many thousands of LSI keywords picked up over time and a heck of a lot of extra ranked terms that will of course bring those extra visitors to my door.

I use many different style templates of my own creation, I try and combine a natural flow and look to the pages, also mixing them up in the process and reducing footprint.

My original keyword base was just over 450. I did the normal research for terms, products, model names, etc., and built a massive list to choose from.

I then used the allowed syndication information like Amazon, Yahoo answers, and more. I have current rss feeds in my industry placing content daily and keeping the bots busy indexing even more.

I hope that clarified a bit,

Rob runs a service and I think it is still and active wso. I would have to do some searching, but I think you may find it just as fast as I would. I used it in the beginning and it gave my main blog thousands of links that I later hit with backlink booster..*tip there..

Hello, if you make the move over to wordpress you will never look back. You have much more control and power of added plugins to help you with on-page seo and traffic. Things like pingomatic and other traffic methods will help a great deal. You build a solid structure and bring in a lot more visitors with this blogging platform. I have never considered any other way to work with my websites now, I always do a wordpress install and set them up pretty much the same way every time.

I have ranked for so many keywords I have lost count. It is so much faster to upload new content and keep it fresh for visitors.

Hello Oosha, My main content that is hand written is pages from the menu tabs on a wordpress install. I have a lot of content I published as posts as well. I made my main themed content as pages for a reason due to the weight of that level hierarchy. I have written a lot for a few of my blogs over the past year.

My high traffic blog has a lot of content Making sure there is fresh and new posts and even a new page every now and then keeps them coming back.

I did hit a new all-time record yesterday with $434.45. It was amazing and I could see it coming knowing my stats level like I do.

Hi Usha, I will have to do some big content and linking additions before I see that level. I will be working on it slowly but surely. I have sent messages to my current writer team and am waiting to hear about my content ideas. There are a lot of good folks here in the warriors for hire section that write very well.

      Well, Thank you sir!..

I have been on here for years soaking up knowledge and doing my best to make it happen. Shopping around for that one thing that would help me seemed to allude me. I had a plan in mind, but the execution was still fuzzy. What could I do?

I read a lot about wordpress and had got a helping boot in the rear from Holly Mann towards using that platform. I did not like it at first, and it took awhile for me to see the light.

All that I have been able to learn and apply was directly taken from starting out with programs and reading here. I just wanted to share it like so many have before.

I have thought about a WSO, I just have never produced one, that is another road entirely..

Hi Kevin, 2,000,000 plus impressions each month. It had grown each month following the firestorm seo program and my implementation of this. In fact my traffic and income doubled like clockwork for a long time. It has slowed in growth, but only as far as what my server can handle it seems. My estimates seem to be a %33 growth level each month now, where it was %100 before. I had crashed a lot of servers and ran my resources up to the limit so many times.

If you were to take your blog and add this program, it would be the same way. I am not the only one who has used this and have been "yelled at" by hosting companies.

Hello, there are server admins who will take your backups and move them for you. You will only have to have a viable backup of your websites stored on the old hosting. They will then ask for ftp access and move those files to the new location. They will then ask you to verify the integrity of those sites with special access so you may view them for mistakes. They will then confirm a solid mistake-free move and ask you to point your name servers to the new location on their hosting.

It is a hassle, but if you had to do it, you can get through it. I was not ready for it and had to punt. I learned a lot of valuable lessons over that period of time. I am glad to share that with all of you in case you go for the gold in traffic and need the info.

    48,000 pages? That's absolutely amazing.

Okay, I just read thru the whole thread and I see how it's set up primarily as an autoblog. I did one on wordpress (free plugin called WP-o-Matic) and lasted about 6 weeks before I got my site shut down by my host. It killed them and they were pretty upset. Man, I had 2,000 pages before I knew what hit me...something screwed up in the settings. That plugin is known for doing its own thing.

Hey Matthew!...The man himself just came in and posted, you will see the link for his program in his sig. It should be hanging out just above this post. This is the most comprehensive program for extreme traffic levels I know of. It happens to be the only program of many I have used that actually performs as advertised. Good luck..

Just to pitch in again. Wordpress has a great SEO platform and such an active userbase that the innovation and customization makes it very powerful indeed for autobloggers.

The secret is to make your site an "Authority-Autoblog" that is why many people fail with Autoblogging.

There is a major difference between the two

Well folks, listening to this further explanation should help those of you understand more of what I have been working towards. I did not use a product specific domain name, I went for the authority blog model, and it is doing well. I had chosen my domain names long before it seemed to be popular to do a small niche or micro-niche blog. I know those work as well, but my main focus was for a broad industry, and my place in it. My main blog has focus on this type of model, and I have been in this profession starting out in 1985.

This may not be a choice for all bloggers, but you may have some experience that you can expand on, and use this as your voice or platform for building an authority blog. Being broad in focus, I am able to write as I feel from many different aspects of the industry. Having this freedom gives you, the blogger, many choices in content type.

Using software to assist in blog production is not bad. If syndicated content was banned, then every newspaper and major news blog would be spanked across the internet. Not everything you read from a news blog is all hand written by staff writers at that particular blog or website. There has been, and always will be, syndicated content of some sort. Depending on in part or as a whole, using just syndicated content to build your website will not work. You must be able to provide real user content that is yours, whether written by you or hired writers.

This I believe, is my evergreen plan to stay on top and up front to my readers.

Hello, I have 56k pages indexed. It is non ending for the amount of pages you can add to a blog. I have that many indexed due to firestorm seo. I added the features of that program and did what it said to do. I watched over months as my traffic went to the moon, taking several servers with it. I am only talking about ONE blog, not my whole collection.

I have 4 main blogs that pull in my income. My main blog has 250,000 tags. You can see where these would pull in a lot of traffic. Search term tagging 2 plugin places links to the searched for entry on the page, it adds links on-page for the search engines to see. I hope this helps a bit.

Thanks for shedding so much light on how your sites are set up, Jim. So many people here and also elsewhere have this negative view/assumption of autoblogs and how they can never amount to anything, and I love how you're shattering that myth with this post.

I suppose that autoblogging can be a bit of a misnomer, because there's very little "automated" about it except the scraping of content. Everything else has to be done by you, and there is frankly quite a bit of work involved (over time) in creating a decent autoblog that contains relevant and valuable content.

          Hey Paulie,
You are so correct in the assessment, the automated portion still requires some work. I still have to admin everything to make sure it is relevant and delete questionable content to keep it clean.

I just wanted to reveal how a few extra tools can assist in building an authority blog and have it create a visitor pool of millions who visit and interact with my blog and create income over time.

I really cannot estimate very well how much time I actually put into this. My work keeps me away from home, and that time spent on rest periods was spent working and building my blogs. It has been an obsession of sorts, to build something that would give me a possible way to retire a bit early.

    Jim,

What a fantastic expose - I think so many people have moved away from these types of marketing, that it is fantastic that you are showing that people can still make a LOT of money this way.

    Cheers

with some of the most popular earnings programs.

Hi Steve, Thanks for that. I was able to find my way and build my method combining different strategies for an income. My regular job had such ups and downs, there had to be a way to have something working for me while I performed my other duties to help with the bills. I was glad I found it. It works for me while I am at work, this is what is cool about it.

You mentioned "I have that many indexed due to firestorm seo." Isn't firestorm seo a video course.. Do you mean you used firestorm seo knowledge in getting your pages indexed.. or is there a firestorm seo plugin? How do you manage the on page seo for the posts published by wp-robot... you mentioned wprobot publishes the posts as drafts & then you delete those if they are irrelevant.. Do you also manage the seo for such posts.

Firestorm SEO is a video course, you are correct. It is the strategies used and the way I recommend to set stuff up that makes all the difference. It recommends many strategies for onpage and external SEO that really maximizes your potential.

Hope that makes things a bit clearer

    • Great for you, Jim...what a great story for all.

I bought a brandable domain in my "field" of 15 years a couple of years ago, but have not really spent the time on it to build it. In fact, as it sits today, it sucks.

But, it is brandable and broad enough to really be an authority type site in it's field.

After reading this, I'm going to work on it today...I've already got plenty of tools and knowledge to get rolling.

And, in this particular field, I had an adsense click the other day that paid $1.50, so it came back to my awareness when I saw that.

A great plan and a great big THANK YOU!

Hello, that's the way we roll..

I would say you have the plan now and should get right on it and start the building phase. You should be able to see some results in a fairly short time especially if you put the firestorm program in there with what you have. I would suggest a wordpress install like I said, and make the move so you have some real power that you can add with plugins and the other steps I mentioned.

Good luck and let us know how it is progressing.

With firestorm did you get the OTO of the wordpress install with plugins and all or did you just get the training. I am considering getting it, but just wanted to get your take on it.

By the way, I am actually glad that you didn't launch this as a WSO...there seems to be so much hype in WSO's these days it is hard to tell the "real deal" from the guys just trying to turn a profit. You are definitely the real deal!!

Hello and thanks for that, I got the main program (with no OTO) last year about may or june. I put the info where it needed to go and it took awhile to work, then it kept doubling traffic stats and income.

I may do a wso later this year, it will take me awhile to put this all in perspective and make it a course that has the questions answered from a bloggers point of view. I would want it to be something that a person could use from start to finish and make money with it.

I hate hype and all the crap that goes along with it. I am a fairly simple guy who lives in the mountains of Montana and I stay to myself mostly. Just my wife, dogs, and kitty. We are in hibernation mode with this new storm hitting us, makes for good spare time to write for my blogs.

Since then, I have bought backlink booster first, and used it more than any. I have later on bought bookmarking demon and scrapebox. I am learning how to use these for whitehat and not bluefart purposes. I am looking to expand what I can do with keyword lists and a small amount of social bookmarking to keep things mixed a bit.

Hello, the forum has a rule about using the other name for bla*ck something, read between the lines if you will. I was just trying to avoid that term. They use the blue name to avoid any labels for the content on the forum, I don't blame them and will use the blue instead.

Well, webmaster tools show one thing and other tools show another. But, I can say that yes, there are many thousands of links of all types out there with 56k pages indexed on just one blog.

The firestorm product is a whole training program, don't miss the video that shows using the power script. There is a lot of things to make your blog more search engine friendly that you can use from this. The script is only one tooth on the seo gear so-to-speak.

Make sure you do your changes per the video in your robots.txt as well. This is also very important. Also, your list shown in the video that needs to be updated in the writing section will need to take place.

                    Hope it helped,

How were things going before you started putting to use what you learned from SEO Firestorm? Do you think you could have eventually got to where you are today without the aid of this? I know that's hypothetical, but would be interested and appreciative to hear your thoughts on that.

Hello Alexander, I gave away an ebook in the inner circle to members that had a copy/paste of my purchase of two programs and the exact numbers for each month for income.

Here is a reprint of that so you can see in order how these programs made a difference..

I had plenty of failure. I am not ashamed to show what had happened and how stagnant my account was before using these programs. I have direct relationship between these two programs and the traffic flood I received from them. Sorry to be boring with older stats, but it shows what so many people have complained about for years, no traffic and no income.

I had plenty of failure. I am not ashamed to show what had happened and how stagnant my account was before using these programs. I have direct relationship between these two programs and the traffic flood I received from them. Sorry to be boring with older stats, but it shows what so many people have complained about for years, no traffic and no income.

Wow, quite a turn around! Thanks for sharing that!

I know I can look this up online, but what's Backlink Booster all about? Along with SEO Firestorm, that's a necessary tool?

Hello, it is a program that assists with web 2.0 or social bookmarking with ONE click. Once the account creation takes place, you use ping.fm and post your material across your account, this of course creates more links. Let's say you had an article blast out there to a wordpress mu service and had a list of the submissions. I did this and that's why I am using it for example.

You go back and find those articles out in the wild and hit them with BLB and create a solid set of backlinks to your backlinks..lol. I also hit my main site with BLB, but at a cost of google dance. My site had some age before I did this too. Now, I just use link magnets and hit them BLB. I also use other tools, but I am still new to those.

This is what helped me rocket up in the serps and still brings traffic.

                    Jim

I had to check what a link magnet was. It's another script or tool by Sean?

Hello, yes it is of sorts. I had purchased this a bit later when it came out. It is a training program on how to build a link magnet as opposed to link wheels, which can be detected by G. This method works a lot better and was developed by Sean. He is the first to use it in the real world.
The guy is sharp, I call him Mr.Wizard...lol

Do you happen to know if his scripts work on Apple computers? I noticed on his introductory video that he was working on an Apple, so I'm hoping so.

Hello, he is a major mac guy. All of his main computers are macs. Whenever I buy one of his programs, I see a mac folder named MACOSX. I hope this adds some relief to you as a mac user.

                  Hi Jim
thank you for this great Thread.
What happend to your blog in January/February/March?

There must be something that has changed a lot.
Before that you needed 2 years for the first $100 in Adsense.

In March alone you made $86.27 and each month after that is a lot better then the month before.
What happend at the beginning of the year?

In June/July the SEO-Firestorm took place and shoot you through the roof.
But before that there is something that you must have done in January/February that got the whole thing starting.

Thanks again for your clear writings and great story.

Hello, I did an article blast in Jan. of last year. This took awhile to take hold and I mentioned it in my other posts. This explains a small amount of traffic and some links out there in the wild. I have since boosted those with BLB and have done other article submissions. I will be doing more later on.

The major change was the other programs I mentioned, it has been a wild ride and I hope it continues. I am waiting for my new articles to be done, I also posted today and have a scheduled post for the early morning that I wrote.

I have no need to add the affiliate links right now. I just send the folks to Sean if they want to look at those programs on their own. He has helped me and I wanted to not take any money away from a sale and put in my pocket. If I do a wso I will probably put both types of links in there so people can choose to use affiliate links or not. It would be their choice.

Hi Chris, I was up late trying to get some things done for my new articles and I saw your post. I figured, why not..
I am glad it has helped a few people out there. There is a lot of info here and even some that you may have to read between the lines with. Not trying to be cryptic so much on purpose, but I post as I speak. This I understand can be a problem as my brain goes faster than what I can get down in writing.

I have read so many ebooks and tried a lot of things hoping for that one magic method that would get my blogs noticed. Trying to sort it all out and get it down for others has been a good chore of sorts. If I put out a product in the future, I will have to be able to explain the methods step by step in a framework that can be understood.

When I am at work, I try to work the later shifts, I own the company so I can work as I please with anybody telling me what to do. I like that. If I spend late nights on here, I try to make it worth something.

Yesterday was a long day of posting. My fingers were worn out and I feel there was something accomplished with the hours spent.

    Hi Jim
What town are you from in Montana? My wife is from white fish, we live in Colorado now. Hope to get up there this summer.

    Couple quick questions:

You said your ad$ense ads run 2 skyscrapers one in each side and a big rectangle in the middle. In your experience, which one gets the most clicks?

    Do you use G. analytics?

Do you do any kw research and what tools do you use for it? and what criterias your kw should meet?
    Thanks in advance

Hi Joe, I live in Heron.

Two wide skyscrapers both left and right, and large rectangle is correct. The rectangle used to get more clicks when I had it in all black text on every line. I switched my skyscrapers to all black except the title recently as a test. I would say the left and center get the most. Just like the heatmap Google shows us. They were not fibbing to us.

I used to use the analytics, but switched to getclicky stats. I can watch them in real time and see way more info as it happens.

I do use a combination of keyword techniques I picked up over time. I try to find all that relate to my main subject, and use those as an individual search and copy those too. You can build a huge list that way and let Google tell you which are related.

    Jim,

Can you provide any guidance as to Google's Adsense TOS and the majority of content you're scraping - auto posting? I think thats where some of my confusion lays. But ... you do mention "allowed syndication content". [ or something to that effect ]

How too can we auto blog and not run afoul of the TOS? [ as intimated here in this post ]

Hello, I used Yahoo answers for one example. They allow syndication as long as you use a footer disclaimer. I also see where rss has always been used and will not hurt. They just don't want all syndicated content.

I write a lot for my blogs, and I just hired yet another writer today for some major articles that will be used as pages. I like her research level and this will work and keep everybody happy.

I stopped autoposting a while back and write my own content. I had stopped that months ago and only have rss now. I only wanted a boost with needed subject materials, that is working for me and now it is all unique.

The New York Times online or any paper that prints online has syndicated content. That is something we all know. Like I had said, they cannot write every single article and have to re-publish some. Like the papers had, AP wire was picked up and printed. We all have paid for that same content in other papers.

Hi, Jim. Thanks for the brilliant post. This is my first post on the forum. I've been doing research on IM for the past couple of months, and I really like this model/idea. My question is this. Is your blog a web site? I mean, I have a web site and using wordpress as an editor is an option in it, though I haven't installed it. Would this work for that purpose? Or do I need another editor?

Thanks for the inspiration. I will definitely be bookmarking and using your thread as a guide. Congratulations on your great success and I wish you more in the future.

Hello, as I mentioned earlier my websites are all wordpress installs. That way I can use plugins and add content easily. I can schedule posts for another day and go do something else. My blog will post what I wrote and it is like I am right there doing it. I think it works just fine and the seo available for this platform helps a great deal towards traffic.

Jim, is it too much to ask what monthly expenses are? If I'm not mistaken you have hosting with Hostgator on a Level 9 VPS plan and that costs around $170-200 per month, unless you have worked out some other deal with those guys.

When you outsource for articles, are you getting these for a pretty fair price? I'd assume you're not going after writers who charge too high of a fee because it may not be necessary to have Pulitzer content to suit your purposes.

Finally, the other scripts Sean sells (Link Magnets, Backlink Booster and whatever else) I'd imagine are sold separately. Did you buy all of these things at once or wait until you were convinced they would help in your efforts?

Thanks for being so gracious in answering!

Hello, I have been paying from $5 to $10 an article depending on size. I am using folks from right here in the warrior forum. I placed an order today. The hosting is what you see it for pricing, I get no breaks..lol.

I had done a post on page 4 that described the exact date for my purchases, I bought BLB and Firestorm in the same month I think. I did not get link magnets until later.

I was convinced once I saw what firestorm did in real time. I again have that timeline posted on page 4 for comparison and the exact minute I bought the programs and installed them shortly after. You can see exactly what they did for income with no question.

I then had no problems buying anything from Sean as he "walked the walk". No bs here, it brings traffic and a lot of it.

Hi Nigel, Thanks for that. There are a few of us that remember reading the forums even back in the 90's. I have always got a lot from here and wanted to give back. Hi Jim, I've just spent the last hour or so reading your posts which are invaluable because I am in the process of setting up a blog. Have 3 pages of notes so far from this thread that I will make extensive use of later. You have given a lot information on the traffic programs you use for most of your traffic(Firestorm & back link booster) so no questions there.

You mentioned in a few posts Daniel Tan's press release WSO and an WSO by Rob Fores but I'm not clear on the WSO's you used.

I'm going to go shopping for 1-2 good WSO's for blogging so could you please list the WSO's you recommend. That would be a great help.

Hello, they were. I am taking steps now to try and salvage some traffic. I see where they enjoy having all kinds of perks at Google, glad to see it. To bad they mess with people to the point of costing them a lot of money. I do hope they are happy..seems like it

I am working with two new programs now to adjust for this mess. I have never lost much traffic in any other algo change. It may be awhile and just settle down. I have no idea what they are doing now. My record day was just when they put the new algo in place, and now some traffic drop.

Back to the drawing board and I will get to work..

Can you say how much traffic has dropped - in terms of percentage or some other way of measuring it?

What's the basic plan now? To up the ratio of original to syndicated content? Something like this?

Hello, I just bought some new programs for rss feed creation and of course am waiting for my article orders. I lost a bit of traction, but it seems to just be doing a more fluctuating dance of sorts. It is the most ups and downs I have seen in a long time. I have a lot of comments on my syndicated posts pages that add unique content or changes to those. I feel this is critical. I was lucky to have top serps placement long before this took place and we will see.

I will be experimenting with web traffic genius and wpsin with bestspinner. This combo should remove a lot of problems over time.

        Hey Jim,

Sorry about your challenge with the new algo and stuff - youre not alone.

Thanks for that, I said earlier on to never give up, and I won't either. I just need to drop back and punt maybe. I do see some real fluctuation in traffic, but here are times when it comes right back up to fairly normal. I guess we will see here in a few days or so.

I may be holding on some results because of the added comments over the past year to each. New content is getting weighed along with age of OP. I guess that's it.

That is all guessing on my part, that and a lot more than a nickel will get you a cup of coffee...lol

Hello, I have only a few videos out there. I was stretched out with spare time so I decided to put efforts where I felt would do better. I know videos would be a good strategy, I just need more info or training in this field. I see where Sean Donahoe did Video Marketing Goldmine launch and it is a very good program from a video pro like he is. I just have not leaned this direction myself. But, if I was to dive in, this would be my training of choice.

Hello, yes, they were very mad at me and I was on their radar a lot. They did not like my power script, but were not sharp enough to nail it down. They made me do all kinds of shutting off of extra cron related programs. But, as we know now, that did not help. It was all the traffic doing multiple php calls that ticked them off. My neighbors on the server box had their sites not even load...lol

I use a sideline service that processes a portion of my traffic now, this reduces server load. I have one more tip to those who use firestorm, do Not activate in cpanel HOTLINK Protection, you will lose all your traffic.

Hi Jim. Just finished reading the entire thread. Thanks for all the information, it's very inspiring to many.

I have a few questions which I do not think were already answered.

Do you backlink to individual pages, or to the front of page, or even to certain categories?

Do you backlink booster to boost every backlink you create?

I'm also wondering, does most of your traffic come from your front page, or is your strategy to get different pages in the search results for different search keywords. I ask this because you mentioned you have over 450 keywords you target. That can't possibly be all going to the front page.

On behalf of the warriors, thank you for taking the time Jim.

Hello, I have 56k pages indexed. My kw list helped create that many and I try to find links out in the wild to boost. I have created article blasts with anchor text links to both main and inner pages. I have went back and used my submission report from my article blasts to find them and boost them. I try to vary the time and amount of boosting, it stops footprints.

I just installed web traffic genius and it is building more links via rss for me daily on autopilot. I like the software so far, and will report back on how it has helped me fight the new algo changes.

Most of my indexed pages are natural, I did not do anything but create general backlinks and let the se's do their own thing on ranking the pages or posts. Some of these LSI or latent semantic indexing of extra keywords were done by the search engines and I had nothing to do with it.

I did so many types of promotion over a years time, it has helped as this was all a natural flow of sorts. I did not hit my site heavily with linking, I varied it over time.

Awesome and inspirational for sure, thanks for providing so many details.

I have read this and have been taking notes, just one clarification question, did you build most of those indexed pages via WPRobot or via Firestorm? (sorry if you mentioned this, just couldn't tell for sure and figured I would ask)

    Thanks

Hello, I had moved my unique content from static html to wordpress. I then tried different content pluguins of all types. I then bought wprobot and tried to get some backend content that was syndicated. I then bought firestorm some time later, mid summer last year and my traffic went nuts.

Firestorm got a lot of links to my pages and built them up. The search engines had already indexed a lot of material.
