Testing Exit Squeeze to OTO - Anyone else?

We're testing something new that I haven't seen before, but I'm sure others have tried it. I never liked giving a trial offer as an exit page, and always preferred a squeeze page on the exit page (from a sales page).

So basically we set up a squeeze page as the exit page from a salesletter. Once the visitor opts in, the thank you page is first a one time offer on the product they just exited from. We set up the OTO as a trial for 3 days then pay once more 3 days later if they don't cancel, with the total price being a 40% discount from the full product price.

I was a little worried about not getting the optin to their promised gift right away, but so far it's working pretty well. We're getting a decent conversion on that OTO and we made it very easy for them to skip the OTO and get to the download page for the free gift if they are not interested.

Anyone else ever try something like this?

No, I haven't done anything like this, but I was thinking about doing something similar. I just couldn't figure out how to work out the flow.

What are you using to manage the process? Is the discounted trial another Clickbank product?

How do you make sure they can't get back to the OTO page after they leave it or do you even worry about that?

Is this a membership thing? I don't see how that would work with something like an ebook.

Yes, the discounted trial is another CB product. The product is an eBook, but you can set up a product in CB with recurring billing like this. You just have 2 payments and make the trial period 3 days and enter the corresponding prices for the trial and the next payment.

I'm not worried about them getting back to the OTO page so much, but I am looking into something that uses a cookie to expire a page after a certain length of time. I can't find it but I know I've seen it before. I only want to do it for credibility purposes, as I don't really mind if they save the page and go back and buy. A sale is a sale
