Odd affiliate setup question

There's a new website which is interested in being promoted on my website, to send potential customers to that new site. If anyone I send to the new site makes a purchase, I get a commission, nice and simple.

Here's the odd part: they don't plan on launching a full-blown affiliate program (at least not at this time). So is there a fairly simple way for me to know when someone does in fact make a visit/purchase as a result of my promoting the new site, or does the tracking have to be 100% on their end?

You can use a link tracking service or software program that can track all your links you send to the new website.

There are several good marketing tools out there for the purpose.

Unless you are both using the same 3rd party tracking then there will always be room for debate. Tell them if they are serious about you promoting their website for them you need them to setup some decent affiliate tracking for both you and them.

If they can't do that for you then I would walk. You are the one doing them a favor remember. There are plenty of other products out there you could promote - let them know that.

Thanks for your reply. I sort of figured it would have to be some type of setup like this. I'll see what can be developed.
