As a merchant, I contact many affiliates to promote my different priced products and services. Several times I had to put loads of efforts at my best to convince them for the promotion. They say it's a waste of time as it doesn't generate enough profits. I want to know why this happens after all. I would like to see does anyone else faced such issue yet?

    Who is 'they'?

If you offer someone the right deal and they have the right audience you can make a fortune with affiliates - a lot of Clickbank sellers focus solely on getting affiliates to sell there products!

  • Hi Mjarel. That could be caused by a number of things...

    Responsiveness of target audience...
Product benefits for the target audience...
    Competing products...
    Commission percentage...
Initial resources required by affiliates to successfully promote the product...
    What you tell target affiliates...
    Your negotiation skills...
    Your reputation...

    ...and so on...

You need to have some good proof of earnings you can approach them with. Most affiliates these days only care about how much money they are going to make (unfortunate, but true). Show them some real EPC's from other affiliates who have also been promoting your product.

    Hi Maria,

You need to have some numbers for them ready, like your conversion rate.

Have you worked on your copy and sales system to really improve the conversation rates?

Top affiliates will not like to promote a product with no record of conversion or a product with very low conversions.

For sometime, think like an Affiliate, and promote your site as an Affiliate, and see
how much results you get for your promotions, what conversion rates you get....

If you get good numbers, tell your prospective those magic numbers.. if you do not
get even a single sale for 100-200 clicks.. You need to forget for now about affiates
and fully focus on your Product, copy, sales system to make it convert... only then
you can get more and more affiliates.. first you have to got a salesletter which convert
    the visitors into buyers.

    Wish you best of luck,
    Mohsin
