Not really.

There is a difference between running a site on autopilot and not doing anything at all.

Getting the system set up is not automated. The system itself is automated, once it's set up.

Traffic is on autopilot, capturing leads, pre-selling, selling, taking clients from the lead list into a seller's list once they buy, automated e-mails, it's all set and I dont have to touch it.

The site has ranked for some keywords and if i were happy with that amount of traffic i wouldnt have to do a single damn thing any more other than just check up every once in a while.

Getting the website to rank was hard work and I did mention that in my post. Getting it rank ed higher will be even harder work, my website is still automated and when i rank high enough to where I'm happy with the traffic i won't have to touch it.

I think it's safe to call the whole structure automated. Right now I'm automating the traffic part of the whole system.

In my mind, a great example of a strategy that's not automated is FACEBOOK ads, or facebook fan-pages. You have to stay on top of them, eliminate, change, track, send out status updates, etc...

So yeah, getting the system set up is not automated, it's pretty frustrating from time to time. Once set up, the system itself is automated.

You're right, debora, I decided to write this post since it just felt so good to finally wake up to these stats this morning and I wanted to share and answer what I can answer.

Unfortunately people on WF create fake profiles all the time. Whether it's to give themselves props for that "great WSO" or something else - they're around and sometimes new members seem to get under attack for no reason. It happened to me to 6 months ago when I joined, lol.

The site captures leads and generates income. That's what I call autopilot. Now all you have to do is get more traffic and that is much more fun then spending the time trying to sell something. The site does the selling.

Well first off - I am not suggesting that anyone should stop doing what they are doing, just because one thing worked out for me doesnt mean it wont work out better for someone else. I know people that are making much more money with similar if not exact systems that I have tried.

Second of all I have spent literally countless hours, days, weeks, months trying to figure this IM thing out and I feel like i still haven't. There were literally nights when I didnt go to sleep, reading posts on message boards, buying WSO's, getting really frustrated and giving up. I can only mention a small fraction of the money-making strategies that I've tried that produced results.

Here are some systems that worked for me, but they were time consuming:

1. I would post classified ads offering a free website set up/trial and make people sign up for hosting through my hostgator affiliate link (pays $100 per sign up). I got contacted once to have a dropshipping store set up for $699 and i knew that you can set it up for free. So I would post ads that there's a "$699 online store that you can have for free, you only buy hosting and pay when you make money, if you dont make money within 2 weeks you dont have to pay at all", etc... People would call me and I would simply sign up for the affiliate store and redirect their domain name to it.

2. I would go to fiverr and purchase facebook viral scripts for $5 then set them up for other people for $250 (create facebook app, install it on the domain)

3. CPA incentive offers - I did good setting up CPAlead offers and finding UFC videos on websites and posting CPAlead surveys until UFC pushed to press charges against google

4. twitter, believe it or not - can make you some money, especially in dating niche. But you have to have twitter bots and check it every day, constantly... so frustrating... tweetbuddy made it a bit easier for me...

5. Im a graphic/web designer so i designed a few templates, landing pages, sales pages, etc... gave them to a few "gurus" for a percentage...

not sure, there's all kinds of things...

The reason why i stopped working on them is because I never felt like I had a solid business that is automated. I always had to work on them. Sometimes it was big money and I felt good, sometimes it wasn't and I start to panic.

I just read one to many posts like the one I made this morning and couldn't find a reason not to go in that direction.

Build a solid structure - push traffic - repeat.

I'd say there's more to it than just that. That two step process is the same for pretty much any of those 5 methods that I mentioned. I went from the 2-step process that you described to:

1. Pick a self-sustainable model that you won't have to touch much (SEO)
2. Automate free traffic

Well this is true. What's also true about people who don't make money is that they get to excited but refuse to work. Everyone thinks on the net money fall out of the sky but that's not even close. Work hard, study much and most important enjoy what you're doing and you'll be going to make money.

Good question, because this part kinda fell in the place all by itself. I only looked at the competition for the main keywords. The long tail keywords actually contain the main keyword in them, they just have a few extra words attached to it. The numbers were so low that I didnt even care to look at the competition. All of my backlinks have the main keyword in it and I'm ranking #4 - #7 on the first page of google for the long tail keywords.

One thing to keep in mind about the long tail keywords is that most of the websites that rank high for them are actually websites like mine that have a good number of backlinks for the keyword that is similar so they can be beat easily if you create backlinks for that specific long tail keyword.

What does that mean?

It makes little or no sense to look at the number of backlinks that long tail keyword competition has knowing that most of their backlinks have a different anchor text.

Let me ask you is the process is right what you have said in steps..

1. You have picked a niche which is good and high paid CPA offer..right!!

2. Than you picked a keyword in your niche of 55000 exact search per month..right

3. Than you have build a website with the wordpress and written a content on your website relevant to your niche...or is it a lead capture page or just wordpress blog website..

4. Did you have added more content into your website choosing more long tails keywords..and than writing articles for it to get backlinks...

5. Silly question but need to ask..in your website there is a content..right suppose one content..how many words do we have to write in our niche website..for that one content

6. Now your website got indexed and may be ranked well for the keyword which you have choosen.

7. Now is the article marketing time..right..so you have outsourced it from good article writer and you spun it and sumitted to all article directories right...with anchor text to get backlinks to your niche website and visitors..right

8. I believe when you have started writing article than you have chosen long tail keyword with minimum search per month with 300 - 400 per month...right..

9. Now question I want to ask is how many article did you submitted to article directories with spinning all the articles..and pointing back and visitors to your website..

10. How many days did you keep on submitting to article directories to get stable amount of visitors..I know it depends on niche but want to know on your niche..how long it took..

Heh, I'm really hoping it's $100 per day and not just my first $100 day on autopilot.

Here are some answers and keep in mind these may not be the best answers but they worked for me for this one website:

1. You have picked a niche which is good and high paid CPA offer..right!!
10 different offers in the same niche

2. Than you picked a keyword in your niche of 55000 exact search per month..right
no, not 55,000! 5,5000

3. Than you have build a website with the wordpress and written a content on your website relevant to your niche...or is it a lead capture page or just wordpress blog website..
It's a wordpress script - different reviews of different services and products all within the same niche

4. Did you have added more content into your website choosing more long tails keywords..and than writing articles for it to get backlinks...
No, but that's definitely the plan. Keep in mind i just got indexed last week. I have ordered more high quality articles to expand the website and rank better for long tail keywords.

I'm not sure, i think it depends on the niche. I initially ordered 10 articles and they were all 700 words which was too long. the new ones are 500. I cut the 700 word articles in half and spun them. with backlinks pointing to the 500 word articles.

6. Now your website got indexed and may be ranked well for the keyword which you have choosen.
NO - my website is indexed but only a small fraction of the backlinks are indexed since I submitted them only a few weeks ago. The keyword that i have chosen does not send me traffic since I'm number 1 on the 2nd page. I ended up being ranked on the first page of the long tail keywords that I havent really targeted (yet) but my main keyword and my anchor text for backlinks ranked me pretty high for the long tail keywords. That's where my traffic comes.

7. Now is the article marketing time..right..so you have outsourced it from good article writer and you spun it and sumitted to all article directories right...with anchor text to get backlinks to your niche website and visitors..right
Not exactly. The good articles stay on the website and I don't spin them. The crappy ones that I got at first are for spinning. I spun them using one month free trial of jetspinner/jetsubmitter. the anchor text is my main keyword and I have one link pointed to the respective article and one link pointed to the homepage.

8. I believe when you have started writing article than you have chosen long tail keyword with minimum search per month with 300 - 400 per month...right..
Correct, however I havent started targeting the long tail keywords yet. i got the placement because my main keyword is almost identical to the long tail keyword. If my anchor text was my long tail keyword I would've been number one on those pages. I'm between 4 and 7.

9. Now question I want to ask is how many article did you submitted to article directories with spinning all the articles..and pointing back and visitors to your website..
Here's the math - 10 articles in jetsubmitter - 20 submissions per day - 50 of them failed so it's about 1000 backlinks from 300-400 different blogs and article directories, only a fraction of them indexed.

10. How many days did you keep on submitting to article directories to get stable amount of visitors..I know it depends on niche but want to know on your niche..how long it took..
I dont have a stable amount of visitors yet. I didnt rank high at all yet, I just submitted the articles a few weeks ago. If I wait for another month or two for all of the backlinks to get indexed and rank higher, I'll be able to give you a solid answer you can go by. Right now i'm just indexed crappy, but enough to have some traffic.

11. Now what I am thinking is you got the result with article marketing and I believe you are going to follow it for few weeks..right and than you will move to some other marketing like video marketing and so on..right..this how the games works..right..
Yes - once i have the website fully functional and add everything i need, i'll start pushing traffic from youtube, facebook, offline, etc... The website is very automated which mean i just need more traffic and i need to see if it's good traffic.

This is awesome - there was no free offers such as free ebook or a free course or anything, the offers just state that you will produce better results with our help. They all take you to a specific service and the first 5 follow up emails are for that specific service. People signed up but no one bought that one. They bought other services and products. It might be the CPA network issue so I didnt list it with the ones I made money with.

This is great and kudos to you. Must be congratulated because

a) you took massive action

b) you stuck to one thing

that is the two main reasons newbies in here fail! But do not worry, i was once in that boat too!

But you also are building a list, this I belive is one of the smartest things anyone can do for their business no matter what you sell, even if you are selling fake spew, or novelty doggie doo doo, having a list of people to sell too is priceless.

You plan seems solid, you now know how to make money, now just upscale it times 10 and see 1000 dollar days. It sounds hard now, but you have found yourself a nice plan that obviously works for you. So now exploit that as they say.

Anyway, there are great tips in here for newbie. Most will not take action, a big no no....however those that do will most likely see some sort of results. So thanks for sharing and kudos to you...here cheers for many more sales in 2011 buddy good luck.

Congrats to your success!

I think this post goes a long way in validating what others have said here and elsewhere over and over and over again...which is:

Find one thing, stick to it and don't navigate away from it until you start seeing money from it!

I'll have to remember the name of Anthony Hayes for future reference whenever I need some articles written, as it sounds like he delivers on his work!

Was this with a new domain name, got your backlinks through Free Traffic System and within 2 weeks your were indexed and started to see some rankings? Or did you use a aged domain?

new domain and i think that jetsubmitter played a bigger role as well as UAW. Free Traffic System is awesome but takes time to submit articles.

Not a free cpa offer, you definitely have to sell a good service to have higher payouts

yes and no, yes to solely from articles and no to good long tail keywords. i optimized it for the main keyword but i ended up ranking good for the long tail keywords since they're similar.

I think you'll discover that with the recent Google Farmer update, content quality is going to matter even more in the future, so keep searching for more good writers as that will be the key to your success in the long run (this is the crucial component to getting traffic with your present strategy, and you'll need them as you expand and build more sites).
