    Hi David,

    There are loads of them.

    Coverlinks . com is one (not my affil link)

    You also don't necessarily need a program to do the work for you. You can set up a php redirect with very little trouble.

    This is a common question here on the forum that's been answered by others far more knowledgeable than I.

    Begin by using the search function for term 'link cloaking', 'link cloaker', etc. If you wish, do an advanced search so you can search for posts with that keyword phrase in the title.

    BTW, a tip for you - there are many people here who willingly give help and advice to others here, but they do like to see that the person has made an effort to discover that information on their own, as best they can, first.

    Why not try the search function and see what comes up? Then post any other questions back here again.

    All the best,

    Kat Bartone

          Hi David,

          I think that most cloakers will work with clickbank. What you have to be careful of though is that those cloakers that use frames are against the terms of service of clickbank and other vendors.

          What I would recommend to you is fellow warrior Alan Peterson's Link Cloaking Guide. I got it a few months ago, and as I recall it's just about ten bucks or so.

          Let me know if I can help.

        Hi again David,

        Checking to see if Alan has an affil. program (thank you!) and will let you know.

        In the meantime, to create a php redirect, all you need to do is create a text file using this convention:

        <?php
        header( 'Location: http://www.youraffiliatelinkgoeshere.com' ) ;
        ?>

        Then save the file NOT as a .txt file, but as a .php file - use a file name that helps you remember what the link is for. For example, if I'm promoting Chris Rempel's Lazy Affiliate Marketing product, I might save the file as lazymarketer.php.

        You can do this with all your affiliate links - and then stick them all in one directory that you create. A common directory might be 'go' or 'recommends'. So the full path might look like:

        http://www.katbartone.com/go/lazymarketer.php

        The correct name for this strategy is a 'php redirect'. There are other types of cloaking, but this is clean, easy, and search-engine friendly. Again, there's a specific type of cloaking that uses frames that I do not advocate using, as it is against Clickbank's (and others') terms of service.

        Hope this helps,

        Kat

            Hi again David,

            Alan doesn't have an affiliate program at the moment, but he is running a WSO for his guide, and I highly recommend it.

            Get it - you won't regret it, I'm sure.

    Don't have a Website? Use TinyURL.com to cloak your links.

    Have a Website? Do the following:

    1. Create a folder off of your domain root with a name such as "recommends".
    2. Within that folder, create another folder named after the product, such as "ProductX"
    3. Within that folder, create a file called "index.php" that contains only this information:

    <?php
    header("Location: http://your_affiliate_link");
    ?>

    Your affiliate link will now look like this:

    http://www.YourDomain.com/recommends/ProductX

    For every new product you promote, create a new folder in the "recommends" folder and name it after the product. Create a new index.php file that contains your affiliate link.

    Pretty simple, really.

    Good luck.

      I have been using that php redirect too for about a year, and it works well.

      The only gripe I have... it doesn't hide the affiliate link once it gets to its destination. So the person who clicks on it can still see the full link (depends a bit on where you're directing them to and how those sites are set up though).

      I suppose that's what "real" link cloakers do a bit better, or at least some of them. They completely get rid of traces of affiliate links.

      But for the most part, especially for the purpose of making the link look professional, the php redirect does the trick.

    Hi David,

    I looked all over for the best solution for this and realized one of the problems was I was building a list for someone else, so I had a programmer develope a software program that would cloak my link like www.mydomain.com/link and add a pop up on the affilialte's site with my opt-in box or video or whatever AND have an exit pop up when they leave for a one time offer or different offer.

    I ran a wso for $27, if you'd like to try it out, pm me and I'll send you a link for the special price. It sells right now for $77 at Affiliate Link Magic- The Most Powerful Cloaking Software On The Planet!

    Best of luck!

    I've always just used tiny.url and simple html:
    target="_blank" href="tinyurl.cxm" Click Here
    So simple "click here" is the link
    But I like essmeier's idea, too

    Ok, I have to throw in my 2 cents here. I have a real easy way to cloak an affiliate link and it works well for beginners. It requires a hosting account that allows you to make sub domains. My hosting account allows me to make unlimited sub domains. I prefer to use a .php redirect but this method is perfect for beginners. If you have a hosting account and your main domain is ww.mysite.com. Then you can make a sub domain in your cpanel like ww.affiliateprogram.mysite.com. All you need to do is use your cpanels redirect option which is a wizard that walks you through a re direct. You make that sub domain. You click on re directs, in your cpanel, you choose to re direct ww.affiliateprogram.mysite.com, and it will ask you to input the URL you would like to redirect it to. You enter the URL of your affiliate program and click save. Bam. All done. Now you have a domain name that looks like this for your affiliate program: ww.affiliateprogram.mysite.com. Very professional and if an experienced affilaite strips the link, they go to your main domain. So, they cannot get to your affiliate program unless they go through your link. Its much better then a long domain name like: ww.mysite.com/recommends/affiliatex......no offense, but its long and other affiliate marketers can spot your affiliate efforts. Now, an experienced affilate is gonna spot you no matter what. But, this makes it look much cleaner and will increase your clicks significantly. One thing you don't ever want to do is promote your affiliate link with out cloaking. I always strip affiliate links when I see them and go to the site without grabbing a cookie. Lots of other affilates do this too. Now, if you have made a valiant effort to do a professional cloak, I will grab your cookie and go, because you deserve it. LOL.....anyway, thats a simple way to do it, I would still prefer a .php redirect which is basically what redirecting your sub domain is going to do. It just walks you through it in a wizard. And you can always change the re direction to another link. Hope this helps. AJ

    Simple. php redirects. That's all you need. No reason to get fancy and spend money on hiding links imo.

    Here's an easy solution:

    EasyRedirectScript.com

    It's cheap ($15 I think), took me 5 minutes to install (and I suck at that stuff), and it works great.

    Hi David,

    Forget Tinyurl etc. I have tried that and still my CB commisions kept missing. Try this link which completely hides and encodes your aff. Link: h**p://www.hotitemfinder.com/cbtools/linkcloaker.php [fill in the ** please] Its a cloaker that is specially designed with Clickbank in mind

      It does seem that free might be the way to go with this. I'm not sure about this, but I remember hearing that the link stealing wasn't as big a deal once you get out of the IM market.
