Wordpress is very nice but it is very strict. Squidoo also is very effective. Just try the two.

Squidoo is better than WordPress hosted on the WordPress.com servers.

I agree, in any case Wordpress.com frowns on IM activity on your blogs and can have your blog closed down, and some stuff, like using your blog for building backlinks to your sites, is against their TOS.

You an also use Blogger, and they have Amazon widgets you can use, but again, later on, if you want to use it to build backlinks to your own sites, you run the risk of being closed down.

However with Squidoo, they encourage some IM activity (some niches are a no-no, but Amazon is heartily encouraged). Also, if you want to build backlinks to your sites later on, it's no problem.

Squidoo is a good place for a newbie to start, because you don't have to fork out any cash and you can learn along the way without making costly mistakes. You can always build your own WP blogs on your own domains later on and then build backlinks from your Squidoo lenses to your own blogs, and especially if you had already built many backlinks to your lens, it will be of great value to your blog.

I have built many Squidoo lenses to test the waters in a specific niche, selling Amazon products, and if it works, I'll build my own blog and backlink from Squidoo. I have also sold quite a bit of Amazon products from Squidoo, especially during nov, dec, and jan. However, the same seo principles apply with squidoo - niche and keyword research, scoping the competition, on-page seo, and backlinks.

Squidoo is also good and fast option but have doubts about huge earnings because you earn for squidoo first and then yourself.

      Regards,
If you use your own Amazon affiliate links on your Squidoo lenses, you get all the moola, you don't share it with Squidoo. If you make use of Squidoo's Amazon modules, you have to share the affilliate commissions with Squidoo. I actually do both, I put a little bit of Squidoo modules on, usually at the end of my lenses, just showing some other products in the niche - just to make sure it keeps Squidoo happy

Remember, if someone clicks through to Amazon, the affilliate cookie is valid for 24 hours, and you get commission on all the sales they make in that period, irrespective of the type of products they buy.

Also, you get your share of any other advertising income from your lenses, so one should not discard Squidoo too easily - its a very useful site, in fact!

Wordpress on your own domain provides too much facilities to use. So Max people suggest you (including me) for wordpress then squidoo.

      I agree 100%

If you genuinely wish to become an authentic marketer you need to host your own wordpress.org blog. Any sites you don't have full control over are a complete waste of time.

If your wordpress blog is a wordpress.com blog and not a wordpress.org blog, you will not be able to put in affiliate links.

So if you will use wordpress, make it a wordpress.org, i.e. a self-hosted wordpress, blog. For this you will need to have a hosting account and a domain name. And while you do need a little outlay for it - hosting is about US$10 a month and a domain name is about US$10 a year - you would have full control of your blog.

I get it. So if it is both free-hosted blogs, Squidoo is better.

I also explore Squidoo blogs and i see some Amazon advertisement so I think there will be a better compatibility between Amazon and Squidoo.

Thank you guys for another info's. It helps a lot to me.

Thanks for the info. But as I have explore Squidoo, I see many high ranking blogs that are used for amazon and they are been posted 3 years ago and not yet deleted until now.

I'm looking forward that they will not also delete my blog if I earn some cash

If you're using WordPress on your own domain, then that's the best way to go. Otherwise, you should probably go with Squidoo.

Use wordpress on your own domain and hosting it much better then Squidoo.

It will only cost you say maiximum of £8 for a domain per year and there are a lot of people willing to give you free hosting, Me being one.

Both of them are good for SEO.
Despite this fact i would prefer wordpress. It has a more friendly interface, or i am more familiarized with it.

Squidoo is definitely better than wordpress.com if you want to list Amazon products. Squidoo has been cracking down on duplicate content, though, so just be sure to have original content on your lens and you will be fine.

Pretty much, you can test your skills at Squidoo and see if you can rank well with your keywords. However, if you want to make some serious coin, then you'll definitely want your own domain and hosting at wordpress. A domain is around $10 and hosting is around $65 a year.

So for an investment of $75 a year you an have your own domain without restrictions. Then you can use squidoo and blogger to LINK to your wordpress blog an so on.

    Test with Squidoo.

    Make money with your site.

    Peace,

    Shane

IMO if you are sure that you can promote your own wordpress website, its better that you have your own domain that you have full control on all parts of it but if its difficult for you, you can try Squidoo and using the power of it.

I'm new to the Warrior Forum, but I have been Squidooing for several years now, and I agree with what was said above. Squidoo's a great place to test things out and see if you're getting traffic on a topic. In the end I did both. I have a couple Wordpress.org niche blogs that are doing well and I have, um, a ton of Squidoo lenses. Linking them up, and bouncing the same ideas off of both has worked very well for me. I would do both if you have the $$ to set up your own self hosted Wordpress blog.

Definitely go with WordPress on your own site. The WordPress software itself is free, flexible, and you won't have to be at the mercy of the "content police" and "terms of use police" that patrol the free hosted sites like Blogger, WordPress.com, and Squidoo. You can customize your site as you want to, monetize it as you want to, use profanity or other edgy content if you want to (within reason -- keep it legal or your paid web host will probably shut you down), and not worry about a free hosting platform that could change terms of use at any time or even go belly up and leave your work flapping in the breeze or gone completely.

I agree with some of the others, Squidoo might be good to test your keywords and content at first. But don't hang your hopes and dreams and full business plan on only Squidoo and other free platforms. Paid hosting runs from about $5 to $8 per month for most people, and domain names are only about $10 per year (less for .biz and .info, but I like to stick with .com and be creative with the name, personally). That's a pittance for starting up your own business with the potential to make serious money. And having your own full domain name allows for more clout, better name recognition and good brand building, too.

Wordpress.com is a lot tougher than squidoo when it comes to commercially motivated blogs. But you can use them as a link building resource if you are careful not to set off any flashing red warning lights with your content.

One of the strengths of wordpress.com is the high ranking tag pages, which can also work really well for indexing your posts. Make sure that you use appropriate tags when you make posts - more generic tags will get crawled more often.
