Scrapebox has the same value after the last google update?

I'm considering buying scrapebox, but I saw on some topic, a guy talking scrapebox that lost value after the last google update. Is this true?
Some questions:

- What about the addon backlinks checker, it is based on the yahoo site explorer? And after the explorer yahoo dictate complete their service (stop working) and will get this addon?

- Can I use proxies for public posting comments? What is the optimal amount of public proxies? (Proxy per post)

    Scrapebox is a very useful tool. There are lots of things that you can do with it. I have 2 copies running on 2 computers 24/7.

    You can also use public proxies to post which SB can harvest for you. You can get a copy for $57 over at BHW.

      I wonder if I can use proxy for public comment self too, and how many I need, because whenever I hear talk of proxy to comment, say are necessary to pay for private proxy

    Using Private Proxies can help you get 50% better results then using public proxies.

    Scrapebox still has the same value but make sure you build the links slowly and make valuable comments instead of just spamming stuffs. This way you wont get banned by Akismet plugin and If the stuffs are under moderation you have higger chance of approval.

    VALUABLE COMMENTS IS THEY KEY.
