Wow,
I can't believe it man.. it's a good feeling to see things actually working out to the game plan.

I got 5 subscribers so far to my list, my website is about a week old lol and i've done very minimal marketing because i've been working on the content.

I have a question though (as always)

There are two people who did not verify yet (it's been 2 days) do you guys ever send reminder emails to people who don't verify? Or is that normal, for some people just not to opt in the 2nd time to verify.

Thanks!

Dennis

It's perfectly normal. In fact, that's about the rate that I run... 3 verified for every 5 signups.

You can help improve your verification rate by providing very clear instructions on the landing page after they opt-in (ex. Go check your email right now, look for this subject line, check your spam folder, etc.) . And also give them a bonus for completing the opt-in process.

  • yeah, for sure put real clear instructions, a screenshot of an email with a big read arrow pointing to the link they have to click works well

Good idea's, yea I'm going to have to make it clear.

I just got another sign up! I can't believe this.. so cool. I'm amazed because I have done very minimal amount of marketing! I can't wait until i have a finished website and free member site (what they are getting access to after they subscribe) and actually market the heck out of the site.

Well done, the beginnings of things to come. Yep, you will always get unverifieds. As a rule, I personally wouldn't send emails to unverified subscribers and if you're with Aweber, you wouldn't be able to anyway.

So just remember, no matter how clear your instructions are, no matter how easy you make it for them, you will always have unverifieds, it's just the nature of the game do what you're doing and be chuffed with the verifieds you do get. You're on your way to building a solid business for yourself.

Some of those unverified ones may have mistyped their address so the confirmation email went to the wrong place.

It is frustrating seeing people not doing the confirmation optin. Sometimes I see people entering a false email, and then when they realize they won't get access to the product/newsletter, they go back and sign up again.

Another option would be turning the double optin off, though some people don't like doing that.
