Question on 3rd party domain tracking using Google Analytics for eCommerce site

Hi WF, it's been a while!

I need to be able to analyse and report in GA for traffic/sales coming from a 3rd party site.

One method I've thought about would be to simply take the www.anothersite.com/path url and run it through Google's URL tool builder to create a custom tracked URL and then pass this URL onto the 3rd party site when the time's right.

We do have GA setup tracking our ecommerce sales etc.

I was just wondering:

a) what my options were?
b) if this is a good enough method to use
c) how advanced one could get with the tracking/goals to filter out noise etc. and to really show-off to the board members

Thanks in advance,

Richard.
