Hey fellow Warriors,

Im new to the whole internet marketing scene, and slowly getting obsessed.
I have created two sites so far, how successful they are doing isnt really and issue as i see this as an education.
I received an email this morning;

Dear Webmaster,

My name is Sherry, and my company Topspot-Promotions represents online sport sites in various domains. We are looking at reputable sites to offer them profitable opportunities to help promote some of my clients sites.

We would like to know if you are interested in working with us on this. For further details please don't hesitate to contact me.

How do i reply to this, or should i except this as spam?
I'm a new member, an apologises in advance if this is a common issue?

I recently built a small business website for a good friend of mine. He was contacted with a similar email claiming they could get him instantly to number 2 in google for various keywords. They did this by placing a business page on their website.

The amusing thing was they could only get him to number 2 for all these keywords because the site occupying number one was....his!

    Couldn't hurt...

I'd reply. Worst case scenario, you dig deeper and trust your gut and it turns out sketch.

On the other hand, it could be a profitable advertising space opportunity for you (hello monthly revenue!)... dig deeper. You don't know enough about it yet. At least reply. Ask questions....

    Peace.

P.S. Welcome to the world if I.M. It's a long journey... but looks like you've got a footing. Don't look down. It's a LONG drop.

I think it's a scam.. You should look them up on BBB, I mean their website Topspot-Promotions.net doesn't even have a contact number or address that look legit. But I mean you can still email them if you want and see what more they have to say for you working with them.

Thought I was trippin. I JUST got off your blog and then checked my email and saw Justin Dupre replied to a thread in the WF...

It's late here anyway. I should be asleep. Maybe I AM trippin.

Honestly, this looks like a generic email they send out to a bunch of websites. I would be much more inclined to work with a company if they actually contacted me directly, with a real live person on the other end. I would skip it and do the legwork myself.

Thanks for the rapid replies everyone, can't believe how helpful this site is. So Glad I found it rather than chucking money at courses to people I'm not familiar with yet.
I kind of thought this might be a scam, but on the other hand its no harm in checking it out is it? worst that can happen is a disappointment, everything is a learning curb for me at this stage.

I left out her contact details just in case, it seems like a direct email.
Anyway I'm going to email her and see what she says.
    Will let ye know,
    Thanks again people
    JC
