If you want to avoid being seen as the fool in the room, consider this advice:
- Don't ask the question if you don't want to hear the answer.
- Don't argue with people whom you have asked for help.
- Don't ask people to do for you, what you are unwilling to do for yourself.
- Don't expect that every shiny widget you buy can be employed without effort on your end.
- Stop believing in fairy tales. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
- Don't assume that you will achieve the same results as the person who taught you the method.
- Don't assume that because you failed, the person who taught you must have been lying.
