Plugging in my wordpress site

Ive just made my first wordpress site and before i start making post's i'd like to know if there are any sites that i can submit my blog to so each time theres a new article on my site it will appear and people can read.

Also would does it matter if i use content from other sites? or will google penalize me and ill get less traffic?

    Well unless you have permission the law will also punish you as content you don't own is copyright protected.

    You are best off to write your own content or outsource it and have some content written for you. There are places like 99centarticles.com

    You can use content from other sites that allow you to do so however the majority of content on your site should be original. Think about it logically. What sort of sites are Google going to like?

    In terms of notifying other services when you have new content this is done automatically through the ping list found at the bottom of the 'Settings' >> 'Writing' page in your Wordpress dashboard. Search Google for a list of ping services, add the list in that box, and they will all be notified when you post new content to your blog.

    Google hate copied content and most of the time people have their content protected by copyright.

    Check out fiverr.com and you will find loads of people willing to write you brand new articles.

    If i were you i would write a few articles first and then submit your site to:

    Pingomatic.com
    stumbleupon.com
    digg.com
    twitter.com
    mixx.om
    facebook.com

    Submit your site to pingomatic about once every two days. If you keep adding new content to your blog google will begin to scan your website daily which means there will be no need to re-ping your website.

    But seriously don't copy other peoples content, google are cracking down on this and the value of your site it google's eyes will dramatically decrease because of it.

      Thanks for the list. I will try to get some unique content, but my site is also like a news site so somes things will have been reported on already and ill get my source from them.
