If I want to link to my Facebook page, do I have to use the full url such as:

Amazing Cover Letter | Facebook
#facebook

Yes. What are you linking it to though. Your blog, your signature, just curious. Because there is also a way to make a like button. I am sure you saw that though.

Yes for signatures or sending the link I would do it just like you did in your post.

once you get 15 likes on your page you can go to the facebook pages section and name your URL, the you could link to facebook.com/amazingcoverletter

If you go to edit page then manage permissions and then default landing tab you can have them land on whichever page you choose

You really should make a landing page and offer them a free gift if they opt in to your list

Agree with Ray. But be sure not to give an incentive for liking your page as it is against FB TOS.

So what about fan pages that hide content until you like them? Is that considered giving an incentive?

When you get to 25 likes, you can select a unique Page name. That will shorten it up a bit.
