I definitely agree, I left it a long time ago. Though there is still allot of money to be made if you have money and patience.

Targeted traffic to your affiliate promotions. This requires generating traffic and writing excellent preselling articles.

Build a list and promote excellent products/services to your list. But, to build a list you need traffic.

I got my first success with affiliate marketing writing an in-depth review of a product I used and loved. I wrote a huge review listing my likes and dislikes. I then promoted the post to death. I also wrote several articles on my blog about the product - tutorials, tips, etc. all linking to the review.

My review is sincere and I use the product extensively.

So, think of a product or service you use and love.

Write the best review you can. Be sure to research for the best keyword.

Then promote your review like crazy.

Then write other posts, including one that attracts buyers to capture buyers and people who want to get informed.

Focus on getting your posts/articles ranked at the top of Google.

An easy way to rank well quickly is to do this with a new product/service so that you're one of the first people to publish on it. I've done this as well with several products and I still rank in the top 3 of page 1 of Google. I still promote those posts, but it requires less work than trying to muscle my way to the top.

Finally, don't create a thin affiliate site where all your posts promote affiliate offers. Diversify your posts and genuinely set out to add value and inform readers in your niche.
