Local buisness website Service

I'm getting into IM and have a website and still building and adding CPA offers etc. and right now I only have $50 left and thats not enough for PPC at all...

So, I was thinking about offering local stores/buisnesses a service (mine) to build them a custom website. I dont build the websites but I have found a service on this site that will build a 4 page site for $25.

My question is where/how could I find local stores to email about offering them a custom website?

Yellow book? or is there a way to find local stores emails etc.?

You won't have much luck emailing businesses about a website service. Your best bet is to pound the pavement and visit the local businesses and introduce yourself and start a conversation, or use snail mail. There's an offline forum here where you would probably get better answers.

Lots of places on the web, yellowpages.com, merchantcircle.com, etc. or local chamber of commerce website.

But you might have better luck getting a copy of the yellowpages book and look for the display ads that do NOT have a website listed. Then call them up, pay them a visit or drop off a flyer.

I was a successful door to door salesman for cable/internet/phone service for 4 years before quiting to do internet marketing full time. I tried things other than door to door to make my sales, cold calling, emailing, snail mail, but the one thing that always converted the best was door to door/face to face. No other type of communication lets you control the situation and adapt and respond instantaneously to customer resistance so well. It is and will forever be the ultimate salesman approach.

Take a night or two and do some reading on face to face sales techniques. Then go meet with potential clients face to face. I don't even recommend calling first to set up an appointment, that just gives them a chance to say no before hearing what you have to offer. It seems scary at first if it isn't something you're used to, but you just have to keep in mind... not everyone will say no. Rejection is a natural part to ANY sales, and being in person, it's easy to take rejection the wrong way.

Just remember, there is no such thing as failure, only results. Either you're making the sale, or you're learning how not to make the sell. Either way, you're improving and growing.

I bought this WSO a little while back and it's REALLY good discussing how to succeed with local business SEO work. I would highly recommend it.

It's not very expensive and well worth the money.
