How Do I Search For Sites Containing A Certain Piece of HTML?

I'm trying to find as many websites as I can that have a certain piece of code on their website. It's an iframe containing third party software ,and the code will be the same on all sites that use the software. Does anybody here know if it's possible to search sites for html like this?

The reason is, I'm looking to sign up to a piece of software and the sales pitch says that "over 150 companies already signed up" - I want to see how these people are using the software and ask them if it's working out for them.

Thanks for any help.

    Hi mookinman,

The only way that I know of is to find some footprint that actually appears on the page due to the specific software. As far as I know, because search engines are not indexing the html, you can't search for it.

You need to find at least one site that has it installed so that you can look at that site.

Is it the chat software you're blogging about?

I think the fact that it's in an i-frame is problematic. Usually, when I have done the same thing they have had a 'powered by' link which has helped, or it's contained within simple html/php and outputs something consistent on the page due to it's function.

When it's javascript for example, I usually fail.

Hi ExRat - good to see you're still around here - we haven't spoken in a couple of years!

Ah that's a shame - the software leaves no footprint and it's in flash

        Hi mookinman,

Yeh likewise, I always remember fellow Brummies on here, although I'm living in 'exile' in the South West of UK now.

        I don't know about this part -

ask them if it's working out for them
        but for this part -

I want to see how these people are using the software
...if I was a potential buyer I would email the company selling it and ask if they could share the urls of people using it for this purpose. It won't hurt to ask if there are any that you could speak to as well.
