A little background first: I own a couple of online retail stores, a gift mall, a ton of content sites and a small consultation business for IM/SEO. I have a great passion for each of these.

I've a got a great .com seo domain (seochest) and can't decide whether to develop it or sell it. Obviously there's a ton of seo sites out there already but as we know it's also about supply and demand and the demand seems to still be high for this. I run into business owners to this day that don't know a thing about SEO. I don't have an seo product right now but with the consultation business, I could work it into that. I could sell an SEO product there but until I had the time to create one, I would probably use someone else's in an affiliate manner. I could advertise it through my IM business but would also promote it though Giftys, the SM outlets and maybe FindTips once it is developed more. I also have a large list around 100K. They're not IM's but I would think there would still be a large audience within that list that have business websites. Maybe/maybe not

My question: What would you do? I just can't decide whether it's worth the time or trouble fooling with. I'm usually pretty good at making decisions but for some reason, I'm struggling with this one. There is SO much free SEO info. out there already. But I like the domain name and I get excited about it's potential.

What do you think? Is it a good name in your opinion? What would you do with it?
I'm hoping some of your comments will help me make up my mind, or at the very least spark some ideas.

Post it for sale at a price that, to you, is high enough to counter losing the ability to develop it yourself. If it sells, great. If not, continue to re-register the domain and keep it until you have the time and effort to develop it.

I've thought about that Rob. I could then invest that money into my existing projects.

You seem to have the passion, as best as I can tell from reading your post. I would say that you will do well with this and I would recommend that you pursue it.

I agree, build on it and it will come (sorry, annoying line but that is the first thing that came to me).

There is your answer right there. If you have ANY desire at all to build out an SEO site, do it! You literally could become THE source for SEO information not only locally but around the web too. It is all about making that decision and running with it.

So yeah, build it out and see where it takes you. Get some local stuff going seeing as you know there is a need for it and expand out from there!

SeoChest sounds better as a software product than a service.
Coming up with a brand name worthy tool (set) may require a unique skill set, perhaps advanced coding some special algorithms or mashd up srevices that are a bit far afield from the areas you are already into. Why not just match it up with a suitable developer and carry on with your existing strengths.
Perhaps you will run into a worthwhile genius invention that's foundering due to the lack of a practical business pla, that just needs proper management and a good name.

Interesting. What do you mean exactly when you say match it with a suitable developer and carry on...?

Sounds like a good product OR service depending on how you market it. SEO is the name of the game, it brings the traffic, and thats where the mone is. I am still learning and I have been studying it for year. but it changes daily thanks to Google

If you really want to sell it then go to Flippa. You name your price and probably there are buyers waiting for that.
