Not using wordpress as a blog. A question!

I use Wordpress to develop niche sites. The articles i put online are posts, not pages. I usually do about 25 pages per site. I upload them all in the first few weeks of the site, after that i upload no more content to the sites.

My question:
Should i remove the 'feed' from my site and use a static front page?If I keep the blogfeed, won't it look like a blog that has not been updated for a long time? Or can I just leave the blogfeed on the site?

Who are you going to get your other pages indexed if your home page is static?

No point in removing the feed. Just remove the date stamps from your posts.

Don't remove your feed, at least it should make your site look like a blog. At least updated it once a month. You can use ezinearticles to get some articles and put it on your blog.

    • I posted about this in another thread: There's a WP plug-in called Old Post Promoter. Really all it does is periodically change the date so the blog looks like it's been freshly posted to.

Here's a site (not mine) that uses it:

Bad-Ass Weddings|Non Traditional Wedding Planning, Dresses and Ideas

I was typing my response when you posted your comment, so I just missed it. That looks like a cool plugin. I will definately check it out!

        Thanks for the tip

That's pretty easy:google follows the links on the homepage, or google finds my sitemap and if that doesn't get the pages indexed Backlink Booster will get the job done.

Is it enough to edit this out in the singlepost.php or can this be found somewhere else too, like in the header, ... ?

I know updating regularly would be better, but I would rather not have to worry about updating my sites. I also don't like the idea of taking ezine articles. I only use unique 700 word articles, that I have someone else write especially for me.

Thanks for the tips guys. I think I will just remove the datastamps from the posts.
