Are you kidding? That's great. It took me months to hit that level of passive traffic generation. Be glad you've gotten to this level so early. Lots of people spend years with websites getting only 5 or 10 visits per day.

Proper monetization and I'm sure you'll be getting a serious income boost from this site very soon.

Exactly what this man says. You've still got a way to go but you're skyorcketing through the initial processes, and if you can keep up this level of activity and dedication, then success is a sure thing.

I just checked my traffic for the day, and I am up about 33% over last weekend - very surprising, because I would think large portions of my audience would be out working the bbq instead of perusing my wares - but hey! I am not complaining.

As addictive as both are, most of us STILL find time to get them both in this Fourth of July holiday weekend!

How am I generating traffic - just the basics I've learned here, and nothing black hat:
- Make sure each post is pinged
- Occasionally post a link on FB
- Do a lot of blog comments - the site is showing 50 or so indexed backlinks now, all quality, nothing spammy
- But mostly - I just try to concentrate on quality, useful information that my audience is looking for, and try to present it in a conversational, but authoritative manner
- I am not doing anything with ezines, because of Alexa's sage advice, at least yet.
So far everything is coming from Google, but Bing just indexed a couple of my posts yesterday, Nothing from yahoo yet.

Am I missing anything? Frankly, I would rather write than anything else, but I know I need to spend time marketing and monetizing if I am going to be ultimately successful.

  Truly, you've done an exceptionally good job your first month.
  
  Stick with what you're doing - it's proven successful; focus on content - that is what's bringing in the traffic, that's what's keeping them coming back, that's what's going to build credibility, trust, and a lasting relationship with your audience, and that's where you can build an exceptional sales funnel - IF you're up to it.
  
  Your actual mileage may vary, of course, but once I had my website up and running, adding 3 posts a week takes less than an hour a week; even a daily post would take less than 2 hours a week. That leaves me a LOT of time to work on creating products customized and targeted solely
  for my niche.
  
  You can crunch the numbers yourself - it's only going to take X-number of hours to create an e-book that can sell for weeks, months, years, even decades or generations to come - depending on the niche and how timeless the information is. Audios and videos are 'hot' right now, but you'll have to decide whether they're appropriate for your niche.
  
  That alone should get those famous Sugar Plum Fairies dancing in your head!
  
  Now imagine what your sales funnel will look like in a year if you create one e-book or video a month? Or one a week?
  
  And remember, you're always going to have new people coming to your website who haven't seen any of the "old" products, while the previous satisfied customers will become repeat buyers, even rabid fans - as long as the quality is there and you keep the proper perspective on 'what's in it for them!"
  
  Frankly, I would strongly recommend you write your own sales copy as well.

You're doing very well with 200 unique visitors in one day. Most new websites don't see that kind of traffic for months. And even then it goes up and down.

I'm curious, did you do anything like article or backlinking?

200+ UV in just a month is quite an accomplishment!

If your growth has been so rapid I wouldn't worry about monetizing the website just yet. Focus on quality content and then when your traffic peaks, throw in all the advertisements.

Just wanted to thank everyone! Its been quite an adventure so far. I am still not certain when to begin monetizing it, or what that will look like .... I'm based in California so Amazon is definitely not an option anymore.

For the next month, at least, I am going to take everyone's advice and just keep doing what I am for now - trying to craft useful, timely, and compelling content and hoping big G continues to send traffic my way.

Two weeks ago, and I am not sure how or why - google started indexing my posts instantaneously. I literally hit publish, copy and paste a sentence from the article into google, and POOF! there it would be. Still kind of freaky, but I've learned to save my posts as drafts when proofreading, revising, etc. Is this normal? From what I've read, it seems most wordpress site posts are picked up when googlebot comes sniffing around every few days.

My only concern right now is time on site and page views, both of which I think could be improved - my typical visitor spends 5 mins, 30 seconds onsite and consumes 3.5 pages before leaving. I'd like to make the site "stickier" somehow - maybe through better navigation, cross linking related articles, and maybe some type of social integration. Any ideas? Eventually - way down the road - I have some ideas for apps, as well.

IF what you've written here is true, please accept my heartiest congratulations. The speed of success is quite honestly stunning, in fact it's enviable for any marketer, but particularly a newcomer.

However, I reread all the posts carefully, and it's itemised like a coaching course list. Perhaps a little too perfectly . . .

So, curious, I wanted to take a look at this amazingly successful new site, which is attracting 200 uniques a day. I couldn't find it, and it's not listed under your name here either.

Perhaps you'd like to share this with fellow Warriors? What's the website/url? Visiting Warriors would add even more visitors to your site, and that can't be a bad thing for you, can it?

Please - share your success with us, because you should be very proud.

Or is there something I've missed (like post count building)? Seems a strange post for a first post. But then, I'm like that.

I haven't posted before simply because I didn't feel I had much to add to the conversation - I was in a learning curve, and was just absorbing the information I was finding.

Sorry if I offended anyone - I am very confused by the last two responses. Still, I really appreciate all the other advice I received and will definitely try to post more so people don't see it as so strange. Lesson learned!

Your progress sounds amazing. Take it from a newby who has about 25-30 visitors a day on their website and that has come with effort and slow growth. I doubt that us newbies are able to send PMs yet, but I'd be interested to visit your website/blog. Maybe there are lots to learn from it.

I'm not trying to be a smart-a** here, but I assume you have blocked your IP address from Google analytics, right?

It was not my intention to offend you IF WHAT YOU SAY IS FACTUAL. However, I and others have asked to see this amazing site, and there are probably a lot of tips newbie Warriors can get from it about how to do things right, from the start.
Why are you very confused? Why not share the website with us all?

My suspicion is raised on behalf of my coaching students, and perhaps other newbies.

I never thought for one moment that you were LOOKING FOR a coaching course. But maybe you're 'advance marketing' one of your own, or a WSO?

Your question sounds like:
a. Market Research, or
b. A Market Teaser, designed to stimulate interest and curiosity.

It could be that we may expect a WSO soon along the lines of, "You Can Get 2000+ Visitors Within A Month Like I Did" (for $97 or whatever).

I can already see people asking how you did it; that's what I'd expect.

But that's good marketing. Stimulate curiosity first - Get People's Attention, then show them how they can succeed too (A Product or Course).

But without the proof of the pudding, there's no evidence to go on. We could all lay claim to great success to sell a product (in fact many do), and with the aid of PhotoShop, could show false information.

The solution's simple.

Share with the Warrior Forum. You have nothing to lose, and a lot to gain. Experienced Warriors can easily and quickly check the facts and figures you claim you've achieved, and validate them. Your site should have acheived PR2 status, maybe even PR3, although I think it's too new to be higher, and your Alexa ranking must be pretty good already.

Sorry, but the longer you avoid this request from the Warriors, the more suspicious I become.

I repeat that if what you claim is factual, I congratulate you on your success. We need more quick success stories to counter balance the negativity.

However, this industry is full of trickery and false claims, and feeds on the gullible and naiive newcomers especially. We have a responsibillty to help protect them.

If you demonstrate to everybody interested, that you really have achieved what you say in such a short time, I will publish the most abject apology for doubting you, in as many places as possible, including all my own sites.

If not, 'catherine9989', why not?

Has anybody else got a view on this? Should I just shut up?

You are doing so so well.

Most strugle as they build a website and then find it difficult to get eyes on the page but it seems you have developed a firm grasp of drawing a crowd.

Now you need to focus on building a nice relationship with your readers that eventualy help with getting them to pull out their credit cards.

I really do get a buzz when I see someone doing well and it is like watching someone opensing presents in the sense you get to share the excitement!

Woah, 200 uniques/day after 1 month? And as a newbie? That's AWESOME!

I was happy with my first 100 uniques after a bit over 2 months... which is still considered quite good.

Now, there are 2 or 3 more things you need to do.

1. SEO. Check what rank you are for different keywords in google. Make sure your On-Page SEO Optimization is perfect (h1, title, meta etc.) and if it is, start building links. Both high PR quality links, and some low PR, high quantity links (blog comments, forum profiles etc.)

2. Monetize! Make sure you don't do just 1 method of monetizing... Add Adsense, CPA offers, Affiliate offers, maybe even your own product? You said you were pationate about this niche, so why not write some kind of a ebook?

3. Build your list! Give out a free ebook (can be yours) for a sign up to your mailing list. The $$$ are in the list!

Great work. Must have chosen a great niche by the sounds. That's probably why you don't want to reveal the website....

Some internet marketers love to grab someone elses idea and go off and run with it. One amazon marketing course creators have revealed their niche sites in their training only to discover people copied the whole site (different domain). So my advice is to keep you cards close to your chest and keep on doing what you are doing.

Granted. There are some nasties out there who try to grab other peoples' work. I'm not one of them. Besides, they can't copy the backroom work, such as SEO. keywords etc. It sounds like the author can create good copy too. Robbers may not have the skills to match the standard, or duplicate the same, which Google will find.

Isn't the whole point of the internet to share information?

Thanks everyone! Yes, I am blocking my IP address in analytics. Woke up this morning and found 50 uniques on site so far, so I am thinking this might be a good day, too.

Thanks for the advice Gforce! I think you're wise and I will not be posting the site url here - at least until it is more developed and not so easy to duplicate by some of the more nefarious nasties lurking around here.

Or am I just being paranoid?

See, the thing is - I am not really doing any on page SEO work - although I bought the Easy WP SEO plugin early on. I like some of the features, but found that when I followed the keyword density rules, my copy became more than a little... silly. It could be my average post length, or maybe just my subject doesn't lend itself easily to keyword-dense articles, or perhaps I am just not a good enough writer to out-craft the 3-4% density rules. All I know is that it doesn't seem to work for me right now.

So it would seem that someone who did follow the keyword rules could just grab my content, whip it up with some butt-kickin' but barely readable SEO and knock me down the serps quite easily, right? Or has Panda put an end to this type of game? That's called a threat in any business plan, so thanks, but no thanks - I regularly shoot myself in the foot already, thank you very much.

Another question - how many posts per week is average or recommended? I have heard a max of 5, but then I see major players in my niche posting dozens, if not hundreds, of articles each day - everything from news to how-to and everything in between.

About a hundred years ago, I worked as a reporter for a local newspaper. And before I launched the site, I started working online as a writer on some of the freelance sites. Content, in other words, is not an issue - and the topic is broad enough to keep me busy for months, if not years.

Two weeks ago I signed up (after reading a glowing review on a thread here) with submit edge com for their directory submission package - 750 manual submissions. I don't see anything from these directories in analytics yet or when I check for backlinks, but I am trying to be patient. Anyone else worked with them? I have been tempted at some of their other services.

Should I start working with ezines at this point? Frankly, Alexa talked me out of it with some of her recent posts - but I am open to anything that will take the site to the next level.

Thanks so much for starting this thread. You answered a few questions that I had with this one thread. I just do not want to go the route of submitting articles to ezine again. I would prefer my original content to be on my blogs and them have a high PR. The steps you have just listed are those I have included in my new strategy so I am glad to see that those techniques are working to generate traffic.

Very good job

You should be very proud of your hard work. As for nasties.. I have been at this for 10+ years and I got to the point where I just figure.. If its digital (images, articles, videos, etc.) eventually somebody.. and often several somebody's are going to rip off your content. Its sad.. its true.

I personally stopped worrying about it to be totally honest. What matter most is the consistent fresh content and back-links you build yourself.

@CopyAcolyte - Yes, actually got some help with this from Verena over in the WSO forum, She did a very comprehensive keyword search, and I've been using that and Google Trends to establish an "editorial calendar" of sorts.
