One year in Internet Marketing - What I've learned so far..

This time last year, I signed up to Clickbank without a clue what I was doing. Luckily I found this forum shortly after, using good old Google. But did I listen to the advice warriors were giving? Nope, I thought I knew best

So If you're a newbie, please read the following 3 things that I wish I knew when I started..

1. Stop waiting for things to happen

When I first started, I went through a stage, where I was constantly checking my sites position in Google. Constantly signing into Clickbank to see if I made a sale, and constantly reading posts on this forum without really taking anything in. Please AVOID doing this, it's eating up your time. Instead of waiting for things to happen, move onto the next thing. There's always something productive that can help you reach your goals a little faster.

2. Build a List

You've probably heard it many times already, but I will say it one more time. BUILD A LIST. Yes, direct linking to your affiliate product can still be profitable, but believe me, your leaving a lot of money on the table. The average clickbank product converts at about 1%. So If you direct link 100 prospects to your affiliate product, yeah you might make a sale. But 99 of those prospects are gone for good. Would you rather lose them forever, or have a chance to promote to them again?

3. Focus on Unique Quality Content.

The truth is, nobody except Google, REALLY understands how they determine rankings 100%. But one thing we do know is that all Google want, is their customers to see the best unique content possible. So instead of focusing on the things we don't know, focus on the one thing that we do know, and that is Google wants unique quality content.

I'm sure there are more things, but these are the 3 main things I wanted to talk about.

Hope this helps.

Probably the best one on that list is building your list - the more you have on your list the easier it will be to make money on the internet. Your list is your life and it should be based entirely on that. I have my list for years and every time I need to make money, I just send out an email blast to that list and voila money in my pockets.

This is bigger than most think. I've said countless times that beginner's need to suppress those thoughts of "not knowing how to do everything" and just dive in and do it.

And then there is always the factor of wasted time. I remember one guy told me he checked his email 16 times waiting for my reply. I was like, " why don't you install a notification tool on your computer that will tell you when an email arrives."

Not only does it make absolutely zero sense to constantly check your email to "see if you have mail" but talk about being boring...

I've not got round to this important part of the online money making process as I'm doing other stuff. But I'm a bit confused about some things if some of you guys and gals can cater to enlighten me about. Where do you start? When you talk about building a list, is it mostly in the make money online niche, or can it still work good on a variety of niches. Although, I see why the make money online niche would be great with the tons of available products to promote and the hungry/desperate buyer element to it as well

List building should work in any niche where there is a continuing interest of the subscriber.
An example where this would not be so is acne removal.

I like it, short and simple! It's good advice and it would be easy to follow. Taking action will compensate for a lot of other mistakes, I've found.

Great advice my friend! Thank you for the tips. I must say I am guilty of checking my stats way too much instead of working on something with that time.

lol in my case it was taking action and adjust accordingly.

Put out tons of content and if it doesnt perform like expected, go back to the drawing board and see what doesnt work. At least thats the way I got it.

Why wait for something to happen if you can do it right away? Do the action and forget the '"I'll wait!" attitude if you want to succeed.
