Does having a graphic signature get you noticed

I am considering at the moment whether or not to make myself a graphic signature for the forum.

I have survived very well without this forum but now that I have joined is having a signature the way to go?

Your thoughts please??

    My thoughts?

When I see somebody writing on the Warrior Forum, I read what they write. Then I look left to see their name and picture.

If both are present and I can relate to the information, I look at the signature.

If there are no picture, I tend to forget the person writing, and I rarely look at their signature.

If they don't have a real name, I tend to forget them, too, and I rarely look at their signature.

Maybe it's just me? But I have to be able to remember that now I'm answering a question from Paul or Anna, and if the person is name jksyts or another string of letters that doesn't make sense to me, I just don't relate to them.

Maybe later, if jksyts puts his picture online, and he writes interesting posts, then I'll probably start noticing him and checking his signature as well.

(Now, I certainly don't hope there is a member here called jksyts - if so - I'm sorry, didn't mean to bother you.)

Having a graphic signature, a real name and photo will help in getting others to take you more seriously.

Still laughing and I read this 3 minutes ago...

Personally I've clicked way more text links than graphics. No idea why.

But after reading this I'm going to add my picture and get my user name changed I think...

First off, use your real name... Your current moniker an easily forgetable jarble of letters....re-register and start over.

Most importantly however, contribute and establish yourself through your communication in helping others on the forum. It is only then that people will take the time to learn more about you via your signature...until you start to turn heads with what you say, your signature will be a non-factor no matter how pretty it looks.

    Good Luck

VERY BAD advice! Don't do it. I mean do NOT register a second account - it can get you a lifetime ban...

If you want to change your username, contact the helpdesk and they will do it for you very quickly.

        Hey,

That's good to know. I always thought that I should change to my real name...

I didn't know the help desk could change our name- I've been considering changing mine as well...

But then again, the little message under the username is good for that too

And- from what I hear- having a graphic does get more clicks.

One day I'll get around to buying it...

Having your real name and a picture definitely makes people trust you more.

And yes, theoretically, a graphic signature should "pop out" more than just plain text.
