YES!!! I just crossed £1k this month

I just had to share my joy with the Warriors at crossing the £1k mark this month, £1,016 to be exact & there's still a couple of days to go!

I made my first money online around 9 months ago which was £3.29 Amazon commission & I've managed to scale that small amount up to over £1k month.

You can see my thread about my first sale here - http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ey-online.html

I set myself a target to beat each month, so if I earn £400 one month I do everything I can to make £500 the following month. This has worked well for me & I've managed to increase my income every month without fail.

I'm really happy about this & my next target is to reach £2k a month by January 2012.

It has been hard work, the Amazon.co.uk affiliate program has made it harder for me as they cap all product commission at £7 & all my traffic has came from the UK only. If I had done this through the Amazon.com program I would have reached my targets sooner & earned lots more.

Anyway, I've set my next goal & I'm putting everything into it.

For any people struggling to still make money online my advice is this –

Pick ONE proven way to make money online & work at until you make money doing it, never stop, keep the momentum going every day & you WILL succeed.

You only fail when you stop tying! Never stop, have vision, belief & become a master at your chosen method of making money online.

Congrats Barry, that is awesome! It is really impressive especially since they cap your commission. Sounds like you've got your processes down and have the drive to blow away your next goal.

      Keep it up.

Sticking with one proven method really does make the difference. It is all too easy to try to reach for every dangling carrot in front of you. End result of that? No carrot. Get good at something and scale it up!

    Barry, great news indeed.

Why not focus your same energies into Amazon.com and make that work for you?

It really is better IMO, as there aren't the same caps as you mention. I quite often sell larger ticket items $500+ and would be very annoyed if I only got the £7 capped rate when I could have been getting average of 6.5%+ ($32.50 USD or £20.30 UK). Bit of a difference.

You need to get into Amazon.com and get the same success there as you already seem to have a system that is working for you with Amazon.co.uk. Just take this and focus it into .coms rather than .co.uk's. You will make money there for sure!

    Congratulations!

I think you've hit the nail on the head when you talk about focusing on a method that's working for you.

And although your commissions are capped with Amazon.co.uk, who knows, you may not have had the same success had you focused on .com at first. Maybe you hit an undertapped UK niche? Anyway, I'm sure you can now use what you've learnt to move onto Amazon.com when you're ready.

Hope you're doing something to celebrate

It's true about the cap, of course, but what you have to consider is that if your primary means of traffic generation is SEO, ranking well in Google UK, specifically, is often much easier due to less competition. Even many UK-based SEO'ers are inclined to overlook UK-specific niches/markets/SEO, focusing instead on the US - often out of ignorance or naivety more than anything.

(Incidentally, you wouldn't believe the number of people who've asked me "I'm ranking #2 in Google.com for <whatever keywords> with 7939 estimated monthly global exact-match searches and I've only had 90 visitors all month ... what's the deal?", only for me to discover that most of those searches originate within the UK, Australia, Canada or whatever other English speaking country that isn't the US, where they just happen to be ranked at the bottom of page 5.)

Anyway, enough jibberjabber from me. Congratulations once again, and keep up the good work. Make sure all of your sites' monetisation configurations/setups are as well optimised as they can be, too: sometimes all it takes is a few tweaks or a swap-out (or the addition or removal) of one form of monetisation with another to see one's earnings shoot up quite significantly.

    Congrats!

I must say, I never knew they capped commissions at £7, I strongly suggest if you haven't already you go into American traffic, I've done this from the start and am thankful I did.

Well done on the milestone Barry.

I didn't know Amazon UK caps commission so learnt something new today. I just made £6.90 from Amazon this month which has got me thinking of optimising this revenue avenue. I have just focused on adsense and up to my first £400 month in that. Will keep the focus on adsense increases personally and experiment with Amazon products.

It's great to hear from people who, through hard work and dedication, are reaching their goals. It goes to show that anyone can succeed with the right approach.

Hopefully it will help inspire the many people who visit the forum with posts of doom and gloom about how their efforts have failed.

Thanks for all the kinds words from eveyone!

The reason I just worked with the Amazon.co.uk program instead of Amazon.com is because of the currency conversion.

If I had made $2,000 with Amazon.com, when I have it converted to GBP the figure will come back down to near £1,000 so there's not much point.

I also quite like targeting just the UK market.

Well done, really inspirational! I didn't know about the Amazon.co.uk cap either, and I'm from the UK... although I joined the Amazon.com Associates and have been targeting USA traffic anyway. I'm sure you will hit your £2,000 a month target!
