Reasonable cost images to use in the website

INTERNET MARKETING

I am having hard time finding reasonably cost royalty free images the istockphoto is awesome but if i buy all i need to make my website it would cost $250 just for images which is my budget. I am not sure how pros are handling the cost of images do they have a better source?
can we use flickr images ?
can i reuse images from my friend with little modification?
any good sources that have $1 per medium size images please advice

I would check the sites that are completely free first - keep google searching - there are plenty of sites with free images for personal and commercial use.

Public domain images also does the job if you dont mind looking through some bad ones as well

if my friend bought couple of pics for $10 each from istockphoto can i use it with little modification if he is ok with it? am i violating istockphoto TOS

  You can search for public domain photos or try your luck with freedigitalphotos.net, they only require you to add a link to credit the photographer.

there are many sites where you get free images you got to google it right .. there are so many pictures in google itself

I'm assuming you've tried sxc.hu already. Also I've had good luck doing an advanced search on flickr for pictures that I can use for commercial purposes.

we mostly use istockphoto and bigstockphoto. sxc.hu is an option if you want to be really cheap, but the quality is typically much better at the paid sites.

  What kind of images are you looking for?
  I just take my camera and make a lot of my own.
  If your good with a graphic program there is a ton of free clip-art out there and you can just play around and learn to make your own graphics.
