Confused !! Hyphen or Extra Word !!

Hi,

I want to purchase a domain in a niche where the exact domain name for the keyword phrase is not available.

I can either go with a hyphen in the domain name or an extra word at the end.

Please suggest which option should I opt for.

The keyword phrase is 4 word long
Just to make sure how the name with hyphen should be chosen in case you suggest this option.

Thanks

I would go with the hyphen.

Thanks mate. If it's 4 words in keyword phrase..should I go for 3 hyphens or 1.

Depending on the niche, I sometimes just add an x in front of the domain. Can say it stands for extreme or something.

Personally, in a four-word keyword, I'd strongly prefer hyphens. And I'd use three of them, between the four words of the keyword. And if anyone tried to tell me anything ridiculous about domain-names with three hyphens being in any way disadvantaged for SEO purposes, I'd make really scathing, acerbic comments of the type the moderators would smoothly delete, so nobody would see them anyway.

If adding a word/letters (which I'd be reluctant to do anyway, to a 4-word keyword) I would always add the word/letters after the keyword(s) in the domain-name; never before it. Unlike hyphens, there really is - for understandable reasons, I think? - an SEO consideration about that.

I typically go with adding a suffix if the Exact Match Domain isn't available.

If the singular version of the keyword isn't available I try to get the pluralized version (if it's pluralized by just adding an additional 's'). Otherwise I often use any of these suffixes: info, guide, deal, now, start. Of course, you could also go with prefixes, e.g: buy, get etc.
