I can't believe I'm asking this guys but what is a domain & what is a URL?

From what I understand a domain is the http://yoursite.com

and the URL is the /EverythingAfter

Is this correct guys?

    Well they are essentially the same thing.

    A domain is piece of internet property you "own" (read: rent) for a yearly fee. It is simply a name that you use to direct people to your site.

    Your URL is your web address. Without your domain name a URL would show up like an IP address if I understand how things work correctly.

    So basically you have your website URL, which is "192.123.234.439" (bad example), but you then use your domain name to "redirect" that to "domainname.com."

    A Uniform Resource Locator, URL, or Web address, is a standardised address name layout for some resource (such as a document or image) on the Internet. It provides the address for locating information on the Internet.
    The following example illustrates the difference between a URL and a domain name:
    URL: IANA — Example domains
    Domain name: example.com
    Subdomain: www
    The domain name is made up of the domain + top level domain. eg.
    Domain: example
    Top level domain: com
    So, in its simplest terms, the domain name is the overall web site identifier and the URL is the locator for a particular resource on the Internet. Most domain names point directly to an index file, so entering the domain name in the forum IANA — Example domains will take you to the index or base home file for that web site (eg. IANA — Example domains).

    Everybody on here once didn't know the answer. A domain is what you buy so sex.com or makemoney.com. The url is the full address so Click.

    Not really.
    A domain is example.com or example.net or example.org etc.

    The URL (Uniform Resource Locator) or URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) is almost the same but it has the http:// protocol mark in front of it (HTTP = Hypertext Transfer Protocol)
