Road to be self employed! Help!

One of my friend is working at a Accounting firm. She can do auditing and accounting. She got a degree in accounting and ACCA. Due

to stress on her daily job, she was planing to find job on her own or be self-employed but she still do not have that confidence or

fear to quit her current job.

Does any warrior know a place where she can find freelance accounting or auditing job online?

Besides, I can also trying to recommend her a site called Real Writing Jobs - Earn Extra Money Writing! where you will get paid by posting blog comment,

article writting and many more. Does anyone have experience on this site? Are they good? How much can you earn a day and a month?

We thank you so much for your time and help.

      That makes us two.
The question is where she can find freelance accounting or anything extra than this or both ?

Also what has to do the accounting with blog commenting?

Sorry. Let me rephrase 'also trying to recommend'.
I also need to get feedback before I recommend her.

I never saw a freelance accounting service like elance for example. Google didn't help at all ?

She wanted to find a job which have more freedom and time.
What service she can give right away now is accounting and auditing.
She do not want to be in 9 - 5.

I think elance is the best place to advertise her service since I heard so many people mentioned about it.

It sounds like she's not ready to set up her own business.

It's a really bad idea to do it out of desperation to leave an existing job.

If she isn't confident about what her business should be and already have a solid plan for how to make money then telling her she should use the internet to replace her job is not good advice.

She needs to work out a proper plan.

It would make sense to set up her own accounting company but it's perfectly normal for most businesses not to make a profit for at least the first year or so, so having an expectation to quit a job and immediately replace an income is a recipe for disaster.

She should get some help dealing with her stress and perhaps speak with a life coach about career choices and a business plan for her future. Stress is not something that your job gives you - it's something you give yourself, so that can be dealt with on its own.

My only advice is to try the freelance job BEFORE she leaves her job. The fact that online work is better doesn't always mean that it will produce income.

Interesting. I used to work at a Big accounting firm doing auditing.
I couldn't stand it. Hours were horrible. The work was unfulfilling.
    Pay was decent.

I left with ZERO plan 2 years ago. Here I am today... still chuggin along... learning everyday.

Ha, sorry I couldn't answer your question. Was just intrigued by the accounting subject. I still have my CPA books sitting on my desk.

I think she is not yet ready to have her own business yet, and I would really suggest that before leaving her existing job, she should or you should train or assist her in doing her own business. From what you have stated, she doesn't have the confidence yet to have her own business. You might want to introduce her to article writing in sites like freelance.com or odesk.com, that is, to give her an idea what is in the Internet Marketing business is all about. It's very risky when you decide to leave your existing job and doesn't have an idea on what to do or what job to look for.
Self-employment requires preparation since she needs to re-adjust herself to a new environment and conditions herself to a whole new world of work. It is wise for her to get the basics or familiarize first the IM world before she would decide to leave her current job.

Agree... I am a sample of this mistakes. Drop my job and spending all my savings to build my offline and online biz but then this biz is going bankrupt leaving me nothing now. Starting from nothing in the cruel world, even eating for today, I have to find it today.

      Don't do the same mistakes.

I feel she should not quit her job right now. Every day part time after job she can move around on freelancing sites like freelancer, elance, etc and look out for freelancing offers out there. The main benefit is that if she picks up one project of a big company there is a chance that the company will hire her on monthly basis if she does a good job of accounting. So once she starts this on part time basis, gains some confidence, only then she should think about quiting her current job...

Stanwhisky, I don't understand why you would recommend a site to her writing articles when that is not her field of expertise. She would be subjected to more stress trying to change careers and earn a living at the same time.

If she worked for anyone else she wouldn't escape the stress of deadlines that come with being an accountant. And starting a new business is tremendously stressful so she wouldn't escape stress there.

It may be better that she keeps her present job and stick her toes in the water so to speak by just advertising her accounting services on Craigslist. She should be able to pick up a few small business clients looking for a part time bookkeeper. This would give her some experience to see if she is suited to running her own business.
