I have a website/blog at dancegameshq.com,....I was initially planning on trying affiliate products, and adsense. I am new to this, and I have NO time, as I am a college student and very busy. I was wondering first if anyone would take look, and tell me if it is reasonable for me to be able to pull 30 dollars a day off of it somehow?

If so, I am planning to outsource some help from elance or freelancer. (I know, due diligence What types of things should I put on the site?

If it isn't viable, I was planning to hire someone to design and create another adsense site, and have it transfered to me, but I am unclear as to how this would be accomplished safely.

Would I have them choose and register a domain they think they can make profitable within a certain period of time (Specified by Me)

And then the also get a hosting account? then they use their IDs and everything and when its finished, how does it get back (transferred) to me and my information be substituted...

If it is wordpress based, would I instead create a subuser to do these things?...if so, are there security risks? what should I look out for? What is the best way to do it? I would appreciate any guidance, Thank you in advance

    Tiffany:

I poked around your site just a little and came away wondering exactly what your purpose/mission/goal is and what's in it for me (WIIFM)? When a visitor shows up, do they quickly see value and utility in what you're offering? I think you need to clarify and target exactly what you want the visitor to do while at your site.

In order for you to make $30/day with Adsense and affiliate products you're going to need substantial traffic. That is going to take some time unless you plan on buying it. Most college students wouldn't be able to afford what I think it will take over several months, especially in this niche.

Web sites that earn consistent money will often sell for 10-12 times their monthly revenue. So if you're hoping to have a $900/month earning site ($30 X 30 days), it might cost you in the neighborhood of $9-$10,000 to purchase such a site. I mention this only for comparison sake -- are you prepared to pay that kind of money to have someone else create/develop that level of income for you? It could take months to build up a site like that.

If you are passionate about this niche and want to pursue it, I would personally suggest doing some thorough niche research and see if you can come up with a product that you could create (or have created via outsourcing) that you could sell onsite. If you had something that sells for $30 or more, you would only need to sell one a day to meet your goal and I think that would be more realistic that hoping for Adsense or affiliate sales.

Another thought would be a membership site if those who are into "dance games" are really passionate about them and you could figure out how to provide your members with awesome value of some kind.

Whatever you choose, you will need targeted traffic and that will take some effort and time on your part or money if you outsource the work.

Don't let my comments discourage you in any way -- just be realistic about being in school and still having the time it's going to take to get your site earning consistently.

First, that rotating banner is distracting. Second, Amazon pays very low commissions (4-7%, based on quantities sold), so you are going to need a lot of traffic to make significant sales. When selling physical products, the affiliate is the last one to get paid in the process due to the associated production costs and what not, which is why commissions are so low.

Thirdly, you should not put adsense and promote an affiliate product on the same page. The reason is because when someone clicks on an adsense ad, it takes them away from your page. Sure, you might get .30 per click, but since it takes just as many visitors to get an adsense click as it does to make an affiliate sale, it makes no sense using adsense on the page. It's better to make $20 or $30 a sale than .30 a click.

Fourthly, you have very little content on your site. Your reviews should be between 400-450 words. Also, you have to have money (and lots of it) it purchase an existing domain that's already bringing in money because the price people charge is based on projected future earnings. The standard is to charge something like 10 times what the site is making on a monthly basis.

In truth, you just need some solid training. Once you learn how to set up everything properly and get the ball rolling, everything else will fall into place. On the plus side, now is a great time to get started since the holiday season is around the corner. You still have time to learn what you need to learn and put it into action so that you can make bank when the holidays come. There's also little competition right now, which means less for you. The sheer volume of traffic will keep you atop the search engines.

When it comes to training, I recommend Unstoppable Affiliate by Andrew Hansen and Josh Stanton. It's an internet marketing training program that teaches you how to make money with niche sites (what you want to do). They really know their stuff and are totally straightforward and transparent--without all the bs. There is also an optional coaching program you might want to take advantage of.

    Good luck,
    Joey

The rolling banner is distracting because the slides are of varying heights. Not only does the banner scolling take attention but the images below that banner jump up and down, too.

The message I get from the site is "buy something here that has something to do with dance exercise". It's not enough to earn what you want as it is now.

My suggestion is to slow down and learn about sites/content/SEO and how to get traffic/attention. There's no substitute for understanding what needs to be done.

I have NO time, as I am a college student
Several people recently have posted similar "no time" comments. Few of us have the luxury of being able to spend all of our time (or much of our time) getting started online. Most work a full time job, may be raising a family, taking care of a house/yard/etc.

When you want something badly, you rearrange priorities to make time to do it. Only a few hours a week of focused, dedicated time can do wonders online. No site is a cash machine you can "pull money" from until the research and work have been done to make the site profitable.
