I put RSS back on my blog and have been shocked at how many people are hitting it each day. I am getting about 20 new subscribers every day and now my total hits are between a tenth and a twentieth of those to my site.

I can't figure it out cuzz I thought RSS was dead?

What I'm thinking is that it may be because I've got a little bit older crowd coming to my site in general? This is verified by the fact that my aweber subscription signup is very unpopular and I think the older you get the less willing you are to give out your email.

Or have you guys seen that RSS is really popular right now?

Also, are their any out-of-the-box ways to make money on RSS? I'm just a newbie hacker and even build my RSS scripts myself manually (from tape and bailing wire).

Any advice on maximizing RSS success is much appreciated...

rss is kinda an old technology but it still is important for bloggers.

glad you are getting good amount of subscribers. I wish I woulda got this too but with good content you can get lots of them.

You know that's an interesting comment. I do actually have a lot of content. That's kind of my emphasis.

Does anyone know of someone who has done well (recently) with RSS?

Well, the internal combustion engines are also old technology - and still used in our cars... despite the average energy efficiency of 18-20%

Not everything old(er) is = "dead".

RSS Usage Statistics <-- based on data from almost 8 million sites doesn't look that dead.

Welcome to the bizarre world of SE. Once you think that something is dead it comes back and makes you a load of money. It is strange but true.
