How Much Are You Making as An Amazon Associate/Affiliate?

Hey Warriors,

I decided to create this thread to inspire people and also to get a perspective within the community on how the Amazon Associates are doing.

Please share your experience as an Amazon affiliate. Feel free to skip any of the questions if you don't feel comfortable sharing it publicly. I would personally appreciate it if you did, and I bet others are curious too

A) How much are you currently making per month?
B) Do you own micro niche sites?
C) Do you use social media?
D) How long did it take you to generate that income?
E) Is it passive and consistent?

Thanks so much for taking the time to read this thread, please participate!

Regards,
Kendra

    A) $800-1200 / month
    B) Yes, but the majority of my amazon sales are made through one site.
    C) No social media for my Amazon sales.
    D) I don't spend any time really promoting Amazon since they changed their cookie from 30 days to 24 hours. I just use it as an extra source of income on existing sites.
    E) Yes, passive & fairly consistent. About a 4-6% conversion on clicks.

      Thanks for replying!

Is all your traffic coming from Google?
How long did it take to generate that type of income?

I'm not sure if you intentionally skipped these questions but I'm curious!

Traffic comes from a variety of sources, mostly from referring sites & some from Google/Yahoo/Bing. The actual links to Amazon are simple text links on the websites themselves.

I can't really define how long it took to generate the income as I didn't develop the websites specifically for Amazon income - it was just an after thought.

I had an amazon affiliate page on my main site for about two months

    A) $15 / month
    B) No
    C) No
    D) The first month
    E) Very passive

I didn't do anything but plop a page on the blog using the WP Shopping Pages robot. It pulls in the links and descriptions from amazon automatically. The page was placed a deep page on the site requiring a couple clicks to find it. I ended up pulling it because it was interfering with actual product sales on the site and wasn't returning more than it was distracting.

I think it was just the wrong type of website to leverage this affiliate system, seemed to work okay without much involvement. If I end up running a purely online site again or a purely content site I'll definitely turn it back on.

    Hey Kendra,

    A) Don't really want to say my income. - That's just me though.

Some sites I have make $100+ a month and some of my best ones make $750+ a month and I have a fair few...

    B) Yes - I normally research the top products and build a site around them - when I find a winner I expand and build a site on the product that is making the sales.

    C) Yes, the more the better! Squidoo, Twitter, YouTube - all helps with exposure and also backlinks for my sites.

    D) Hmm, to get to a point where I was making what I would consider as an ok income about 1 and a half years but I work on a lot of other projects and sites apart from Amazon.

    E) Yes pretty much - some of the more competitive products will cause me to have to go back and keep updating the sites. Although some of the less competitive websites pretty much run themselves.

    I hope this helps?

    All the best,

    Chris Jones

Hmmm I wouldn't really consider me an Amazon Affiliate marketer but I have made some money off of Amazon.

        A) On average $2.5/month

        B) Yes, I have 5 micro niche sites (but with 30+ pages and growing, not like those think 4-6 page sites). Three of those sites are very new and not generating much Adsense or any Amazon sales.

        C) No, I just have a personal Twitter account to for fun and use bookmarking purely for backlinks since I don't get much if any traffic through bookmarking.

        D) I put an Amazon carousel on all of my sites starting 2 months ago to see if I would get any kind of extra income. Started IM a little over 4 months ago.

        E) Passive, since I don't focus on Amazon at all. I just slap the carousel at the bottom of my articles and don't even monitor it that much.

Like I said, I'm not an Amazon marketer but after see these random sales without much extra effort, other than putting an Amazon carousel I decided that I might make my next 5 sites Amazon sites. I definitely want to tamper in Amazon marketing at some point, just looking for the right niches I guess.

    A) How much are you currently making per month?

I am not one to say what I earn each month for several reasons 1.) I think its tacky 2.) I prefer not to advertise personal income on public forum 3.) Because its of no relevance and does not reflect what others would earn.
For example I work min 16 hours a day its not realistic for others to be able to work those hours and therefore my earnings would mislead those starting out lets just say i earn my full time living from income from Amazon.

    B) Do you own micro niche sites?

Yes I own a lot of sites the majority of them are single product sites and I also own some Authority sites as I believe these are the future and they make more money overall but require a lot more work and attention.

    C) Do you use social media?

Yes I do and I make a fair few sales from this method although not as much as I would like I use my own software to build up to 12 Amazon Stores on my fanpages which are embedded with my Amazon id.

I don't use Hubpages or squidoo much but will do, for all new products I find that are not out on the market yet as they rank very well for my Thinking Ahead Strategy if you can get it up real early.

    D) How long did it take you to generate that income?

I have been doing it about 10 months but remember I work long hours full time at this so that 10 months could be considered a lot longer if you add the hours up.

    E) Is it passive and consistent?

Its fairly consistent but does fluctuate each month but not by that much.

    Kickin it on Amazon

    A) I don't like to post my personal earnings on a public forum either but I just have to say it is enough to pay the bills lol.
    B) I have 3 online stores through Amazon Associates but the main income is through just one website.
    C) I use social media for all of them. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Squidoo, Tumblr, etc. I figured the more people I could connect with and gain traffic, the better.
    D) My very first store took me about 6 months to earn because I was just starting out back in the day and didn't know anything about social media or SEO. My newer projects I earned money the first month.
    E) Passive and consistent. I usually generate sales each day but if not, it can be every 2 - 3 days. It fluctuates each month but is mostly steady.

i started a web site for amazon products about tow months ago, i've made my first sale when i used a facebook ads coupon, now i am getting about 12 unique visitors daily, most of them are coming from google and bing and my facebook fan page which gets about 54 fans without even me promoting it or adding it to the site, i am building tow more sites and i think one of them is gonna rock because i started getting visitors from google without even any content or backlinks, just the domain name is good (exact keyword with high search)
this site will be completely done after 20 days and i will do some backliks for it and will see what will happen.
