Open rate tracking question

Hey guys,

I have been sending a lot of email blasts using GR and although people reply to my emails, GR always shows that 0 or 1 people have opened the email.. which I know is not true.

Is there a way to solve this problem so I can get the accurate stats?

Anyone else facing the same problem?

Yeah thats true but how do I import all the GR subscribers to Aweber without losing them?

Wont I need to get the contacts to sign up to Aweber personally? That would mean that I lose a lot of subscribers by switching autoresponders..

No, they would just need to click the confirm link. Could actually be a good way to filter out your list of the emails that are never going to open your emails, anyway. You'll probably lose a few would have maybe opened something but your list will suddenly most likely become much more responsive if you did move over to Aweber.

But Getresponse is supposed to be a good provider, so it seems like you should get it sorted out.

True. So basically you mean to say that importing to Aweber is still a double opt in right? The client has to accept right?

I am sure I will lose many subscribers this way lol.

I will talk to GR regarding this. This aint right.

Are you sure Aweber provides better stats?

just my own experience, but have never had a problem with GR. I sent out an email yesterday and watched the opens and click throughs update in what looked about real time. I had quite a few opens within minutes of my clicking send.

Very interesting. I will call support tomorrow and ask them what is going on with my account then.

I use GR on a regular basis and have also not seen any inaccurate open stats

GR is the easiest to set up. also you can opt out of double optin. aweber is slightly more advanced. For tracking Infusionsoft is the best choice.

      The problem isn't with GR.

One hard to swallow pill is ditch free emails like yahoo, gmail, hotmail and aol. You will see a massive improvement of all your stats from that. But IM people kick and scream about that one so usually I don't even bother to explain it s-l-o-w-l-y to them.
Another solid tactic is to include a coupon or bonus at the bottom in the form of a linked image that they have to display to see or get the bonus. This usually gets them to turn on display images and kicks tracking into gear.

    I've renamed the thread.

Please, folks, don't make comments that bash a service provider without having some notion whether they're even remotely connected to the "problem" you're discussing. This is a prime example. NO ESP is going to have accurate open rate stats, since so many people don't display images on opening, and some services don't always display images for some senders even if you have that as the default.

Do all the tracking schemes rely on users loading hrml resources in the email, it is possible for one to read the text without sending an open signal right?

I used aweber in past but switched to GR some time ago and I can honestly say that GR is way better in terms of your freedom of setting from name. You can have many from name while in aweber if you need to use different you must edit list property each time. This is not good if you have follow up series for the same list.

Thanks for the suggestion. I do not want to switch away from GR if I can somehow get the stats to show properly.

Thanks Paul, the post was never meant to bash a service, I just had some questions
