2400 exact searches p/m OK?

ok, so im new to this and loving reading thru the forums....

anyhow, i have a keyword phrase with 2400 exact local matches p/m -- the domain is available a s a .com.au and yes the local searches are in oz...

the competition bar is at 1/3 ...

so, sound like a good one to get experimenting with?

AND, is there a definitive to-do list for getting things set up....getting a bit of info overload at the moment!! idea to have adsense, clickbank etc
#2400 #exact #p or m #searches

the competition bar is nice... but..

do an actual search and look at the results. analyze the pages in the top 20, what are their pageranks? What is the main domain pagerank? When was the article updated? What does their meta look like?

Then ask yourself - can I market my page well enough to beat those ones? In many cases the answer is yes. Other times, keyword research tools will tell me I have a perfect match but when I actually take a look I laugh because I know the top 10 would be incredibly difficult to crack.

I have a very nice guide somewhere on my hard drive that goes right through this process using free tools so that you know you have a KW that you can rank highly for. If I can find it I will send it to you

thanks, going to install a wp site and get some content up there....
was thinking to do a similar thing to the luxury villa site in my footer...i only get 400 visits a month on this one but they searches are way lower - i did this one using the 'broad' and not 'exact' searches on GKW tool!

It's been awhile since I had an Adsense account (long, sad story for another time), but when I did, the payout was roughly half the cost per click.

In this case, with an average CPC of $1.15, EPC would be ~$0.55 +/- 0.05 as a best guess.

The 1/3rd competition bar might not be the best indicator. Could be that its for a weak keyword that isn't converting so the advertisers aren't buying. But the 2400 exact searches for a .com could be worth the attempt.

ok, so i made a start on thingstodoinbali.com.au (cant post links yet - new here!)

sure there are plenty of things to look at so any advise appreciated...plan to add a whole load more posts on various activities, based on keyword tool...

i assume the blank ads showing in the full post pages are because the pages not indexed yet?

I say it depends on what the keyword is. Is it a "Buying" keyword or "Information" keyword. Depending on what it is will likely depend on the monetization aspect of it, and 2400 could be a great number, or a low number, this depends on the niche.

It is hard to say, but, like many have already said, check the competition and if it is doable, go for it, and see what happens.

P.S Not all figures are exact, I registered a domain with 1900 EXACT searches a month. Built a site, ranked it number one and get about 100 visitors a day from it, so the numbers were way off. You can only really know if you rank it!

sorry, the numbers were actually 4400 not 2400 exact...so much better...guess just a case of writing some more posts - thinking a couple a day...and trying to send some backlinks there and see how it goes...competition doesnt seem that hard i think!
