What Am I Doing Wrong?

What am I doing wrong with my blog ( with the exception of not adding an auto responder)?

I have not made a single sale since I have made the site about a few weeks ago. It says that I have had 280 unique visits. Is this too few to get worried or what?

How do people add hoplinks in their blogs so people buy them?

The site is my sig

I'm not expert and a newbie myself, but I think you're doing what I did and still do but am trying to get it right. You need to presell your product instead of just putting in a link. I do the same thing and have a bunch of posts on blogs that won't do anything either. Going to fix em or get rid of em.

Another thing I see is that you have two opposite ends of the spectrum there 1 The body builders and 2 Weight loss. These are two totally different niches on the same blog. I would have it either one or the other. I do a lot of weight training myself and I know what they look for and their mindset. If they get there and see weight loss stuff and they want to gain which is what body builders do, then they are out of there and same with the ones who want to lose weight and see stuff about gaining they are out of there too.

Just my 2 cents hope this helps and you don't get offended.

I don't really see how you are trying to monetize it?

I've seriously read it 2 times now and have yet to see a link that I could click to buy something....

Maybe it is just late and I'm missing something, but if you don't let your visitors know that you have a product for sale, you definitely are not going to get any sales

Edit: I just saw it - in the "product reviews" tab - Where are you sending your visitors? If you are not sending them to the actual reviews, they probably go to your site, read what you have to say and then continue their research - ultimately buying from someone else.

Don't be afraid to sell things to the people that come to your site. Take them right to where the reviews are and collect the cash.

Sonni just gave you a great tip.

Also, when I landed on your blog, I didn't immediately see anything to buy. Your stuff is buried behind the "product reviews" tab. So, in essence, you're not 'asking for the sale'. Ya gotta ask for the sale.

Plus, when I have to go looking for stuff to buy, you're making me work too hard. Most people aren't going to work so they can give you money. Always make it easy for the customer to buy.

Try integrating the products into your blog posts, and see if that helps your ROI. For example, if you're making a post about ab strength, include an exercise mentioned in one of the products, or a recommended sequence, or something like that. Of course, you'd also include the product title and a text link.

Additionally, get your products on the front page of your blog, in the sidebar, so they're easily seen. Give each one a Buy Now button. Title that section "Weight Loss/ Body Building Resources" or "Get More Information" or something like that.

What keywords are people using to find your site? What is the major source of your traffic?

I think you'll find that your traffic isn't targeted around buying keywords.

Hey Max, I'm gunna tell you these things because I want you to make some money and you're not going to with that blog. Here are some problems, none of which would be hard to correct. I'm not being a smart ass, I just want to get you cranking some cash--okay buddy?

The site concept is way too confusing. The visitor has to jump through too many hoops to buy a product. Here is what should happen on a pre-sell page.

    1. You hype the product you are promoting, but do it quick. You then have links on your home page directly to the publisher/manufacturer's sales page.

    2. Someone clicks on one of those links and goes to the publisher's pitch page. If they like the pitch they click on the order button and go to the order page.

That's it--it has to be that simple.

Now look at your home page. There are no links there going DIRECTLY to the publisher's pitch page.

    1. A potential visitor has to find your blog.
    2. They have to see the "Product Review" link at the top.
    3. They have to click on that link.
    4. They go to your mini-review page.
    5. They have to click on a link there to go the the full review page.
    6. They have to click on your link there to go to the publisher's page.
    7. They have to click on a link there to order.
    8. When you click on his order button you are taken to a second sales page. When you click on the order button there you go to a page where you have to give all kinds of info just to get to the real order page.

In short, no one, and I mean no one is going to do all of that stuff to get his product. The last page I got to said this was a Clickbank product, but I've never seen a Clickbank product with all of that nonsense on it. People just won't do all of that stuff to place an order--trust me.

Aside from that, the publisher's pitch pages have leakers all over. There are links to FAQs, to About Me, disclaimers, tons of other things. Those things drain away people from the main thing--ordering.

My first suggestion would be to choose a different Clickbank product to promote--really!

Your home page has tons of useful info on it, but like I said, it isn't pre-selling the products you promote. You're trying to teach people on your home page and you need to be pre-selling them.

Now, listen to me Max. It probably sounds like I'm giving you a butt chewing--not at all! If I didn't care, I wouldn't take the time to reply. I do care about you and what you are doing and I want you to make some money!

Dude - stellar props for perseverance.

      I only got this far:

"1. A potential visitor has to find your blog.
      2. They have to see the "Product Review" link at the top.
      3. They have to click on that link.
      4. They go to your mini-review page."

      and stopped.

Never even got to the rest of it.

"5. They have to click on a link there to go the the full review page.
      6. They have to click on your link there to go to the publisher's page.
      7. They have to click on a link there to order.
      8. When you click on his order button you are taken to a second sales page. When you click on the order button there you go to a page where you have to give all kinds of info just to get to the real order page."

Ouch. It's worse that I thought. And you are so right. Nobody is going to jump through that many hoops to give anybody money.

Max, don't take any of what Mike said personally. It's not personal. The man's giving you good advice. Take it and prosper.

      Hi Max,

You should place "call to action" text links at the bottom of your articles.

      Ex.

Were these muscle building tips helpful for you? You can get more great muscle building tips from Vince Delmonte and his No Nonsense Muscle Building Program - Click Here To Learn More

Or something like that. The point is, you need to tell your readers what you want them to do next regardless of what page they land on when they arrive at your blog.

Also, you should try to place an ad on the right column promoting 1 or 2 of the products you are recommended to your readers.

      All the best,

      Matt

Wow I am amazed with all the good info that all of you guys have given me. They all are very good points and I will def work ok them tomorrow.

I do have one question though. Why should I change my product? Is it too hard to find a buy button or what?

Once again, thanks everyone for your helpful replies

Your blog looks really nice...but it def appears to be built around body building.

I can see how you could connect losing weight and getting fit...but they are two different niches.

Six pack abs is one niche, and weight loss is the other niche.

Check your stats for the keywords being used to find your site. Then build your posts using those exact keywords. Use the keywords in your hyperlink in your text along with a call to action to read more...discover the secret...and put the link directly to the product sales page.

Once you do that...and you know that you are targeting your traffic...you will start to get sales.

I have a 9 day old blog, and I have already made 3 sales with 70 unique visitors total, using targeted keywords, and it's taken me a year to figure this out!

Yikes! so take heart, it will happen faster for you with all these great tips and words of wisdom!
