Seth Godin - The man behind Squidoo

If you have been in internet marketing for some time,
you must know who Seth Godin is.

If you are new to internet marketing, Seth Godin's books
should be on your bookshelf (if you have one)

You can download his book "Unleash The Ideavirus" here

This is the excerpt from the introduction of the book.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you don't have time to read the whole book, here's what it says:

Marketing by interrupting people isn't cost-effective anymore.
You can't afford to seek out people and send them unwanted marketing
messages, in large groups, and hope that some will send you money.

Instead, the future belongs to marketers who establish a foundation
and process where interested people can market to each other. Ignite
consumer networks and then get out of the way and let them talk.
If you're looking for mindblowing new ideas, you won't find them in this, or any other marketing book.

Guerrilla marketing, 1:1 marketing, permission marketing --these ideas are not really new, but they are thoughtful constructs that let you figure out how to do marketing better.

The fact is, if we built factories as badly as we create advertising campaigns the country would be in a shambles.

This book will help you better understand the time-honored
marketing tradition of the ideavirus, and help you launch
your own.

I don't think we're actually building factories in this country anymore

But in regards to the "newness" of the book, you won't really find much new in any book. The goal of a book is presenting an idea in an entertaining way that resonates with the reader.

I dig Seth Godin's stuff. He makes me think (which is not, admittedly, my forte). I just started reading his "Small Is The New Big" and am really enjoying it. Anything that makes my neurons pop more than normal is something I'll always give a thumbs up to.

      Here is the link, Cordell.

      Ryan,
I think you are right. Nothing is new in this book. (It is free, what do you expect )

But no book is older than the Bible. The point is do you find stg useful in it?
Does it inspire you? Does it make you think and make up new things?
