Would you buy an e-Book entitled, "101 Money Making Ideas"?

Would you buy an e-Book entitled, ""Original concepts, business concepts, new marketing concepts & unused inventions." FOR SALE."?
(The e-book is 101 ideas off all kinds ranging from IM all the way through to inventions).

Unfortunately I can't edit the title of the poll but I'm more interested if the content is sell-worthy than the title (which admittedly was an awful title)
EDIT >>>>> WHAT if it were TITLED: Better title:
Under the title would be an Intro, something like this:
INTRO:
As an innovator/inventor I can only work on one or two things at any given time but I think of several each day.
As such I've kept a list over the years and knowing I will never get to try them all, I offer it to world!
There are many brilliant ideas here ranging from the small and easy to the very ambitious and complex. Small money and huge money.
There is literally something for everyone here and I would be VERY surprised if you didn't gain something from this huge list (even if it just helps you improve or innovate on an existing project of your own)

  • So forget the cheesy title and realize this is not just another IM eBook.
  • It's a real document/list I've been building over 15 years.
  • Full of ALL VARIETY of ideas: BUSINESS(bricks n mortar), INVENTIONS, projects, concepts - like marketing or advertising.
  • Many/most are totally original.
  • Some would make the right person huge profit overnight! (E.g. if you owned an advertising company and applied my totally unique advertising idea you'd make a fortune and dominate a new niche)
  • Has real value - i expect not one person wouldn't benefit from it - at the very LEAST some idea in there would improve something in your own field.

it's just so generic, there's (no pun intended) probably at least 101 other guides with a similar title and content.

But yes - this is the kind of thing I'd download for free, or maybe even join your list to get. Wouldn't necessarily pay for it though.

    Definitely wouldn't buy it...
I wouldn't even download it for free.

What a distraction to read through 101 ways to make money when most of them probably wouldn't even apply to me.

Another shiny object, and if its free then another shiny object to come in the follow up or the up-sell.

If I really had time to spend looking for money making ideas I would invest it in spending a couple of hours going through the posts here on the warrior forum.

Thinking back to when I first got serious
about trying to make money online, I think
    I may have.

It just seemed that the more and more I
researched the topic, the more and more
I kept finding free stuff on it.

I think if you offered it for free you could
build a pretty nice sized list off of it.

I would not buy it ........ This is something that leads to distraction

But newbies would find it interesting but they should be absolute newbies.

I would love something that is focused, detailed and researched only on one topic

if i was a complete newie i would have taken it for free
after a couple of months into IM i have realized that there are 100s of ways to make money but only a couple will work for me ...more importantly i dont have time for all 100s...
i would jump onto other methods only after completely mastering one method..

    No.

Honestly, I'd consider taking ONE of those ideas, and honing it down big time.

The overarching, generic, "101 Ideas to Make Money Online" just doesn't cut it anymore....it needs to be narrowed down, more specific, and carry with it alot of substance and creative execution.

Certainly wouldn't buy it as it's far too generalized. And each idea would probably only contain a paragraph of info. It might make a good free giveaway though to build a list, but it would obviously only apply to beginners.

You would have much more success if you took the 101 ideas and fleshed them out individually into step-by-step or more in-depth guides on how to actually them work. Even if your 101 ideas distilled down into only 20 bona-fide opportunities with in-depth discussion of how each would work and how you could get started, you'd make more money and create a better reputation.

I have a Kindle book that is a "101 Tips for...", but it is not in the money making niche. It's selling pretty well, so my guess is that the 101 concept can work, but it won't appeal to every market.

Which leads me to ask if people would be willing to buy something like "101 Ways to Make Money with ______"; the blank could be filled in with any of the things IMers use on a regular basis, such as ClickBank (that's only an example). Would something more specific be more appealing?

You'd do much better by writing about ONE EXACT way to make money online and explaining how to do it. I have an ebook like that in the works...niche disclosed with ideas on where to advertise it. I presently get $5 per lead that signs up free and $75 for each company that signs up (usually multiple times daily). This is from barely advertsing it. Notice how the CB products with the best promotional stuff and advertising advice do the best (eg., truth about abs).

Thank you all for your time and responses!

    WOW - What a response!
*LOL* I was actually shocked! But now I understand why.

You see, in my mind, I have the list I've made over about 15 years (adding to it whenever I thought of some new business idea or invention).... So to me, it is a real thing (certainly not a gimmick) and also a thing of real value - except that I couldn't possibly try all of them and a huge % of them are simply out of reach for me (e.g require technical qualifications or large capital to start).....
But to you guys/gals, all you saw was a title - not to forget you're immediately thinking of IM and the Internet... so you very quickly get an idea that this is an IM thing. And with a terribly cheesy title to boot!

    Ok...
Let me describe what I really have here:
I'm a hyperactive gemini who really fits the bill. (I get interested in a million and one things but lose interest fast and often get distracted before finishing any one thing)
    I have many varied interests.
Primary interests from this point of view (My list of money making ideas):
INVENTIONS - nothing to do with internet. Literally 'inventions'. Ranging from simple devices like a device that stires the contents of a bowl in your microwave to complex things that would require a chemist to create a special polymer to medium complexity devices like a special device to help wheelchair operators. (there are actually several inventions to do with the disabled)
BUSINESS IDEAS - Many many bricks and mortar business ideas ranging from 1 person operator to business' which would require hundreds. Some are HIGHLY INNOVATIVE (in the sense that no such business exists). ALL KINDS FIELDS.
PROJECTS - I suppose this could still be called business but it's more about the PROJECT than the business one would build around it. Hard to explain. Innovative projects that would earn money.

I think there are actually less ONLINE ideas than offline ones but i'm not sure and it's hard to say since I started the list before the internet and obviously even many of the offline ideas would benefit from online involvement.

All in all there are MANY very innovative ideas here.
I think I have a talent for innovation as I really think outside the box - have all my life.

Now, that you have a better understanding of what I actually have here - do you think people would be more interested if I had a different title and an introduction?

    Better title:
"Original concepts, business concepts, new marketing concepts & unused inventions." FOR SALE.
    INTRO:

With 101 topics / methods, you're running the risk of passing off the report as a "Jack of All, Master of None".

If all those methods are effective, you've hypothetically got 101 individual ebooks which you could develop over time, going in depth and elaborating upon the possibilities of each focused method.

You're more likely to attract someone who is interested in earning money via X method, than someone who will throw caution to the wind and hope that any of the 101 brief outlines appeals to them.

    No, thank you!

I’d prefer an ebook about how to get targeted website traffic for free and increase the conversion rate.

I think that most internet marketers already know how to do the basics, but the main problem is always how to make money in the end.

I’d be interested on a Free ebook about ‘How to Easily Sell Your Products’.

Who is your target audience? Overall, like many people said, it sounds more like a free report to build your list or as a bonus. However, this is an IM forum and most people here are looking for something a little more focused. It might sell better, at least at a low price, to a more general audience.

Very simply - 101 ides of what "might" work is worthless.

One or two methods that have been tests and DO work - is another story.

i'm absolutely stunned at how many posts like this there are...

        i just don't get it.....

I didn't say they were ideas for things that MIGHT work. Sure some of them are like that but the majority are things that will definately work.

There are concepts there that would make a fortune!

If an inventor gives his patents away and they include some amazing stuff, like say a device that lets the blind walk around without a guide dog etc etc, HOW are you going to say there's no value there?!!?!?

All you have to do is skim through the TITLES, you don't have to read all the details of 101 things you know!
Besides, a lot of them are only a few words because the rest is self-evident!

Sorry, still no sale. I already have my own collection of ideas, possible products, business ideas, inventions, etc. I think that my experience is pretty common among people with an entrepreneurial bent. And the folks without that particular predilection would not be your market, regardless of the title or tagline...

        Very good point!

Wonder how to reach those folks without the predilection for innovation, invention and entrepreneurship....

101 Money Making Ideas is a title I would skim right over and not look back. Originality is definitely a must if you want anyone to want to read your ebook

READ THE OP AGAIN AND the posts between!
I have SAID several times now, forget that title! It was a BAAAAD idea and I accept everyone pointing it out.

The question isn't about that title!

The question, especially now, is more about the product and I have already described it in far greater detail!

Depends on how it was marketed, and how well I knew you.
As a cold prospect I would not buy it - nor would I even take it for free.

The first thing that came to mind - and something others obviously thought of as well - was why not trim away the fat and zone in on say 10-15 of the best ideas, and really show people how they can do well with each of them.

As it stands, it might be the sort of thing that could do well as a blog post submitted to StumbleUpon etc, if the ideas were good.

Please don't take this the wrong way. You probably have some great info there - it just a matter of finding the best use for it.
If start by WOWing people with a free report or something like that, I think you'll have more chances of selling something to them down the road.

Another thought - this might work well as a way to create a thriving email list. I've been on cool lists where the person shared one interesting/unique idea on a regular basis. It was an attempt to promote his main e-book (and I suspect he did fairly well with it), but it could also just generally be a great way to build rapport with your list while helping them avoid info overload.

Alternatively - create a blog and dedicate each idea to a blog post!

Isn't that how "The Book of Awesome" came about? I think the actually blog was something like "1000 awesome things" or something like that.

Cool ideas are appreciated - it's all a matter of how you try to share them!

As such I've kept a list over the years and knowing I will never get to try them all, I offer it to world!
A list of ideas about a lot of different things. I get it.

Your question was "would you buy such a book".

When some said "no" - you then started putting them down and arguing about the value. You can ask the question but you can't control the replies. If you think it's a great idea - then do the book and maybe it will work well.

Thanks for the feedback! Great idea to make a blog with each idea as a new post! Appreciate it!
'The Book of Awesome"?! Never heard of it. Sounds awesome!

I wouldnt buy as is too general. If is a free
guide I may download it. As others said needs to be more targeted
on a niche, etc I think (jmho)

I would say no because there is so much crap slung around in the IM world which is advertised as game breaking money making methods. The amount of crap that exists has numbed a lot of people.

People need something new, something which explains how it works, and something with a clear demonstrable value.

Curious, because NO SUCH eBOOK EXISTS!
My list of inventions, concepts - marketing, business etc etc IS totally UNIQUE.

I have NEVER seen such a wide variety of different concepts in one place.

There is literally something for everyone and MANY are totally UNIQUE.

I bet you lost most people at "hello"

The headline just doesn't cut it, and so it doesn't really matter what your content is, because you've already lost your chance.

I know you already addressed this but it's what you need to understand in order to get anyone to even open up to the pitch.

Then your intro goes on about you. Buyers don't care about you, they care about them. Address them and their issues. Understand who you are writing to and why they want/need this product.

Appeal to them. Have them lust for your product. Then you can talk about yourself and explain why you're who they should get it off of.

    Hope that helps.

Good grief! I'm such an idiot - I was not TRYING to sell you guys!

No idea why I opened with "Would you buy..."
and as you rightly, say, that's where I made it sound like i was pitching, when that wasn't my intent at all.

I meant to post as a marketer discussing a possibility amongst marketers to sell to customers (not to my fellow marketers here on this forum, with this OP)!

My intention was to find out if selling all the ideas i'd never get around to using in one place would be a good idea.

I would say offer it for free, or maybe as a ClickBank product with a JV for e-mailers (if you don't mail yourself already). You can chuck the sale to your JV and then build a list from the purchasers. Or just offer it for free, but find a way for cheap/organic traffic. Either way I'd concentrate more on the obtaining of emails for a list rather than the sale.

I would have to say no unless there was a mean salespage and a number of legit posts from warriors that have used the information and don't just "cut-and-paste" shining reviews

  • Sounds too basic and too general. Plus a lot of people have money making ideas, and don't take action. I would be more specific to a certain niche like MLM, Internet Marketing, etc.

I worked on a project with a couple of partners just awhile ago and launched this ebook called 101 Weight Loss Myths (Clickbank product). To be honest, I see dismal conversion rates although there is traffic.

I'm thinking 101 (something something) is too generic and it's pretty tough to sell. Would love to hear some success stories from the other camps for sure.

This is something I would join a list to download, but it seems kind of generic for a paid product.
