First negative feedback on Fiverr

Today I received the first negative feedback on fiverr.

My gig is just about installing and activating wp plugins.

However, I got an order from a old grandma. She doesn't even no what wp plugins are. She send me a link to facebook developer center and login details to five of her blogs asking me to install them.

I had to spend around 2 days to make this happen.

I had offer lot of information to teach her what exactly is a wordpress plugin

I decided to install simple FB connect plugin and she agreed and asked me to go ahead

I know that I wont be able to deliver this gig on time, so I informed her that I can only setup it on 2 sites.

Instead of configuring the plugin I have to create 2 fan pages, 2 fb apps, register on disqus, and also have to coustomize widgets.

Finally she ended up by giving me a negative feedback.

The ? Mark, the default picture of fb fan page, leads to that bad feedback.

I told her that she needs to coustomize her fan pages and need to upload a pic.

But she is saying that I'm lying.

I just wan't to know, am I the only one who face these difficulities?

    And that's the point at which you should have asked for a mutual cancellation because the scope of the work requested exceeds that stated in the gig.

    I'm sympathetic to your plight, because I've had this happen to me, too. I learned the hard way.

      Even if you do quality work every time, you will still get negative feedback from some people. Complaining is what most people do best and practice the most.

      At reddit they suggest not worrying about down votes because nearly every link ever posted there has had them.

      But I agree with Fluff. As a contractor I've learned to sort out that sort of customer. It's a bit of learning about communications and social skills. There is a lot involved in them, and it isn't easy, or fast.

        That is tough. Unfortunately, no matter how hard you try negative feedback is a fact of life.

        One thing you can do though, is spell out exactly what you will do for the five bucks, i.e. 10 plug ins on one site or whatever.
        Clearly communicating can help with expectations.

          ...Do 1 thing...
          Go to Cust. support and tell em all that happened...After that ask em if they can remove negative feedback......
          If they can then fine..if they refuse dont worry....
          Go on giving services of that gig and earn +ve feedback from next time....
          Now if Ur rating is 80% it will climb back to 100% if U go on gathering +ve feedbacks.

            I think your loss depends on how many positive feedbacks you already have . if you have 4 feedbacks and with one negative then you are 75% positive

            but if you already have lot's of feedbacks then you are not loosing alot and should accept the loss

            also place a comment on it's review telling others that you did your best and that was not your problem . people looks at why others left a negative feedback .

    OK there is competition giving people negatives on gigs. What is the purpose? To crush your sales in the future and get them a bigger slice of the pie. Often they will use trash accounts to do their work and they can close them later on. Hey, it only costs them five dollars -oops zero. FIVERR will return them the money. If you do not believe this is happening you are naive. Business is a battlefield and constant war.

    Negative feedbacks are a common thing but I think fiverr admin are friendly enough to study some cases and remove the feedbacks. that happened to me some weeks back

    sorry to hear that.

    such stuff always happens. I used to sell on ebay and used to be top rated seller with 100% feedback. One day I couldn't deliver on time since I happened to be in hospital for that week.

    I contacted buyer explained to him and requested a cancellation. He managed to give a negative feedback. It was furstrating, since he was a terrible person ended lying and saying that I probably want more money for the item ?! The same item that I sold 100 time for even less. Some people just enjoy giving you a hard time while other just don't have the full picture.

    One or two negative feedback doesn't harm

    Some people are just impossible to please, no matter what you do. I would not get too worked up about it.

    You will always get them people, its no matter really.

    The only problem is that you may get so frustrated and start to slack on other orders. Don't let that happen to you!

    Don't worry about it. In almost 9 years and over 50,000 customers I've naturally accumulated maybe a dozen nasty reports in Ripoff Report and other sites and it has had zero impact on my business. If anything it will scare off petty annoying people who are ridiculous enough to even check those sites in the first place!!

    So basically you went above and beyond and she is trying to destroy your reputation. As far as you know this could have been her goal to begin with. These people lurk out there and are very well-known for playing a similar game on eBay.

    I have received a bit of negative feedback here and there because of unreasonable people that expect the world for $1 or $2. I would not worry too much about it as most sensible people understand you cannot please everybody.
