Affilliate programs? Worth the effort?

Greetings fellow Warriors! I am trying to create a list and make money promoting Chris Farrell's membership site (I am a member of his site). I'm planning on building my list by sending traffic to my squeeze page (which is Chris Farrell's squeeze page that members can use for free). I plan on using facebook, twitter, videos, & article marketing (specifically content syndication) to drive traffic to the squeeze page. I have also tried driving traffic to a few other affiliate offers as well. The affiliate offers I have promoted are all sites that I'm a member of and offer what I feel is outstanding value! The question I have is: Are all the people that will see my affiliate offer already members or have seen the offer and have passed on it? Am I wasting my time trying to generate traffic with people that would not be interested in the membership site (because they're already members or have already seen the offer and passed on it)? Would love to know what you think!

    You will only know for sure when you try it. What I can tell you is that his program is ranked very high at IMReportCard.com and you can use that fact in your advertising.

    I would council you to start building your own list rather than using anyone else - you need to build this valuable asset in a way that you own it and have it for your exclusive use for ever.

    Another thing - don't spread yourself to thin with your marketing methods. Become an expert on one, maybe two max, before branching out further. Else you will become a 'master of none' and suffer poor results.

      Thanks for the advice Allen! I'm definitely warming up to the idea of creating my own product and having my own list! At this stage I can see there are many, many advantages to having your own product.

    Congratulations, this is a thinking man’s question. Love it when I see this sort of stuff.
    I heard a great piece of advise the other day. Affiliate marketing should always be your second string and not your main income.

    Get some info on what the ten – twenty most successful marketers are selling and promoting, do a comparison…you might be a bit surprised, but it should be obvious there are certain things in common.

    I think this might be a good place for you to start and hopefully you will find something that is missing, something you can do better, someone you can jv with etc.

    Or you might even say, nope, I like this one and I’m going to start with it. But at least it’s an educated decision and you should have a bit more confidence.

    But the acid test of every marketing campaign is are they buying? If you can get them to buy any product you can repeat this and make more sales and then improve it. From that perspective it doesn’t really matter what the product is as long as it’s good and it solves a real or perceived problem.

      Thanks very, very much kiteg! You've really given some good stuff for thinking! I probably need to be much more persistent getting traffic. I may be giving up on a method too quick. Believe I'm going to try facebook for now, and be real persistent with it. I'm also going to educate myself on how to develop my own product. If I can get a good sized list marketing my own product, affiliate marketing will be much, much easier. Like you said "affiliate marketing should be your second string and not the main income." Thanks very much for all the ideas. The Warrior Forum really is a very good forum!! I would thank both of your posts Kiteg and Allen if I could find out how to do it. Perhaps its not available to me yet :confused:.

        I've been FB marketing and I love it! I have been able to gain over 100 fans and 25+ leads within just 1 week. It's a very simple strategy that takes 10-15 min, 3-4 times per day. Good luck.
