Can I assume that this will give the same amount of link power to my homepage as, say, a page on my website with a header image that has a hyperlink to my homepage?
I think you can assume that this is posted in the wrong part of the forum.

Hey Josh, using a 301 redirect will not pass link juice to your clients sites. At least that is what my source tells me, and he SHOULD know. I base this opinion on where he works and his job position in Mountain View, California which is down the street from my house.

As far as whether or not your authority site will pass anything along to the subdomains, I'm told that yes, it will give them a bump if there are actual sites on them as opposed to just being redirects. My friend also tells me that the amount of link juice the subdomains pass back to you will less than what you give to them, because of the fact that they all reside on the same server or set of ip addresses.

Hope this helps a bit. :-)
