Designing Your Internet Business Empire *How to do it?

Hi everyone

Here is my situation. Im 23 years old and relatively new to Internet Marketing, made some money but nothing big.

I'm totally convinced that Internet Marketing is a great way to build a business, help people around the world and have a lifestyle of freedom and success. So I'm starting to seriously plan my IM business for the next months and years.

I have a good friend who also is interested in IM, so he and I had a little mastermind the other day where we made a design of our "internet business empire". I said empire because we are approaching this with a big mindset, yeah I know it sounds a little silly, but hey, its good to think big!

We also are investing in some good IM courses like Dan Kennedy's DNA Game Changer, Eben Pagans Guru Mastermind, Brendon Burchard Total Product Blueprint, Ryan Deiss stuff, and all those guys.

So here is the thing, we divided our "Main Company" (we dont have a name for it yet) in 3 main parts:
  1. Other niches unrelated to Internet Marketing
  2. Internet Marketing niche
  3. Offline Marketing/Services

We will be starting in other niches that we like and enjoy writing and marketing about. For example: fitness, weight loss, quitting smoking, parenting (my friend just had a baby girl), and so on.

Then when we feel we are "successful enough" to teach others about Internet marketing, we are planning on creating some products and doing affiliate marketing on the Internet Marketing/SEO/Copywriting/Productivity and all that stuff niche.

Also we thought Offline Marketing is a great option. Things like consulting, creating web pages and doing SEO for local business, Copywriting, creating logos and graphics.

Our main marketing activities will be affiliate marketing and product creation. Also maybe some adsense and selling advertising on blogs.

So what do you think about this division?

Obviously this is a lot of stuff and is planned in the long term. We are not intending to do this in few weeks or months. We can also add some other members to our team to help us grow faster.

If you were to design a big IM company, how would you do it?

I would love to have your opinion on this. It will be a long journey!!

  • I think you have a decent start. I would suggest focusing on 1 of the 3 strategies, master that and then diversify into the other two area. Any of the 3 would be good and you will find that this focused strategy will pay off big in the long run.

Sounds like having a plan is the first step and you got that! Another thing is making content that people are going to like! be sure to have that because with out the people well there wont be an IM business. Now, its just about getting out there and doing it right!

Yeah, content is key, and since I love writing, that will help a lot!

mate, you've definitely got your head screwed on and it's a good plan. Taking action is the key so just make sure you go through with it. It'll be a long ride to financial freedom but when your zipping pina coladas on a sunny island with your ferrari parked back home and the money rolling in passively it will all be worth it!

I love to write as well! Squidoo, and blogging are my to main focus right now, I write about the Anime and Manga Niche all the time.
It`s extremely entertaining and fun because it can go everywhere , looking at your topic/niche I have a feeling you are going to be able to expand on it more and more which will then later benefit you!

So I think you have a nice plan and you know actually what to do.Although you are going to take too many projects at a time but I think you're heading towards the right direction.

I think that is something we should be aware of, since its very easy to start focusing on a lot of things without getting anything done.

We will try to focus on one thing at a time and try outsourcing some stuff.

You're off to a great start with that good head on your shoulder. Focus your efforts on 1 plan at a time, you might get overwhelmed by taking on too much all at once.

    Hi WatchTheThrone,

Don't take this the wrong way but I think you've missed the biggest part of what you will need.

The plan you've laid out completely relies on you and your friend doing all the work.

The biggest lesson I learned about IM over the last 15 years is - Don't try to do it all yourself.

As an example - you could spend 3 months thinking about, planning, and writing a really good ebook - only to find that because you're new and don't have access to lots of people that you hardly sell any copies and end up struggling to even give it away because people don't know you and won't hear you above the noise.

On the other hand - you could find a niche where people are not technical and get a small script created for $50 that 1000's of them will happily pay $20 for, and make $30k in a few weeks with only a few hours work.

Being able to leverage other people's skills to create value and get it in front of your target audience is what it's all about.

As a person you only have 24 hours in a day and that will seriously limit your business.

You want your business to be able to grow, run and make money even when you're doing nothing.

It's great that you're starting out with passion, a friend and a plan - but I would also suggest that you seriously consider how to create a system that can deliver even if you're not physically creating something yourself.

Good luck with it - I'm sure your passion will ensure you get results.

Andy, that is the best advice I have read this week. I have spent the last three months doing it all myself (not out of choice). I made a decision this week that I am going to take a part of my budget and reallocate it to getting myself a great VA Now maybe things will speed up.

I think you're going in a right direction with sound plan for the 1 of 3 strategies.

that will be benefit you in future for a long time.

      Wow- sick post Andy!

I think we all can use this reminder- instead of always putting our nose to the grindstone, share that grindstone with a few other noses :p
