Mail Chimp question

I have a free report on my site and people are starting to sign up.

I just sent out the report and had to got and create a campaign to do that.

Is there a way in mail chimp that it will send the report automatically when someone signs up.

I tried the help desk and google and cant find the answer.

    Its pretty easy, just setup an autoresponder in mailchimp. search their knowledge base for autoresponder setup or google it "how do i create an autoresponder in mailchimp"

    Carol,
    Just a FYI mailchimp does not support any affliate programs so will cancel your autoresponder account if they catch you doing this! If you do a search on here you'll see it's already happened to many people!

      Rich (above) is absolutely right. Mailchimp is not suitable for your purposes at all.

      If you read this post and follow the links inside it, you'll find what you need to know there, I think. Sorry to be the bearer of "bad news", but it's much better to find out now than later.

      Not only does Mailchimp not support affiliate marketing with its own service, but they can even close your account if you're a Mailchimp customer and do any affiliate marketing elsewhere, not using their service for it at all. And they say so, openly, too.

      I emailed Mailchimp a while back about this issue. The question I asked was as follows:
      "I am planning to set up a weekly email newsletter which will provide subscribers with useful information and advice. However, there will be affiliate links included from time to time. Would this be against your terms of use?"
      This was the reply that I received:
      "Thanks for reaching out to us to clarify! To properly do this, you'd want to be sure that the emails are branded as the company or your company that the list recipients opted in to originally. Then within your campaigns, it's okay to use links or other information to promote affiliate content. For example, we might send a MailChimp newsletter to only our recipients that includes information about a partner, but we wouldn't send to that partner's lists or an email to our recipients branded as that partner."
      This implies that you're OK as long as you don't allow guest writers or try to pretend you are someone you're not

      I'd suggest contacting them to check whether this is still the case.

    I sent them an email saying .... I have an opt in list on my website, I will be sending people who opt in a free report. I have read you do not allow this.

    I got a response saying they are perfectly happy with this. However if your saying that further down the line I might have problems with them then I am all ears

    I have been with MailChimp for quite some time now. Publishing my newsletter which is ALSO promoting products. Never had a problem with them. Even got some help from their support on quite a few occassions.

    They don't like affiliate marketers. But I suspect that they don't like the type of affiliate marketers who abuse their SMTPs to send out blatant salesmessages all the time. As they are the #1 source of HUGE spam complaint problems.

    That are my 2 cents. Never had a problem with them. And I'm completely happy with MailChimp.

    jk hunter jsut saw your message.... hmm I am talking to their support dude and he has given me some compliance email address to talk too.

    also I noticed my home address on the test email yikes so now I need a p o box address

    That won't be any different with any other autoresponder. That's to be can-spam compliant. Having your adress and a way to unsubscribe.

      Hi Carol, you'll find a huge range of opinions here, on the subject of "which autoresponder to use".

      I've done quite a lot of research on this recently for myself (because, on the "eggs and baskets" principle, I want to open a second autoresponder account for some future lists).

      If it helps, the last time we had a "Warriors' poll" on this subject, Aweber won it with more votes than all the other options added together, as I remember. But even that doesn't "prove" anything. Comparatively few members have lengthy experience with several different companies, I think, so comparisons are relatively hard to come by. It's a hugely important decision and a difficult one to make.

      Personally, I strongly advise you to use either Aweber or GetResponse and to stay well away from Mailchimp and ListWire.
