Can anyone analyze this website and give an opinion

Can anyone tell me why this website is not making sales and what needs to be done to improve this. I feel the search volume is only 200 exact local searches per month and may be this is the reason. This is a sports and concerts affiliate ticket website, just a simple 2 page website. However, this is on first page of google top 3 position from the past 6 months but no sales yet but some daily impressions. What can be done to improve this? This has about 215 backlinks. Well I am going to be brutally honest. You ask why your website is not making sales and what needs to be done to improve this?

First, I'm totally turned off by your site. It just doesn't look professional. It doesn't look exciting. As soon as I click on it, I'm seeing a page that looks like a blog but isn't. I'm seeing a page with no logo (an "identity" is important) -- just text typed into the top.

Second, can I really order tickets there? I'm not given that impression when I land on the page -- one actually has to scroll down through some major text in order to see some kind of reference to ordering something.

Third, if I get over all those concerns, why should I order tickets from this site? What, you have better prices than most? What's the gimmick in other words? Why order from your site?

Fourth, how does your site stack up to your competition? Do you have any? If so, how are they doing? What are they doing that works that you're not doing?

Other questions you bring up too are relevant: you say there are about 200 searches PER MONTH for your keyword/niche. Okay -- but that doesn't mean MOST or any of that traffic is going to your site. If not, then you need to get those people to your site or better yet, target a wider audience. Why? Because even if you got all 200 visits per month with a conversion of, oh, say, 5%, that's still not enough to make a living on or even make serious extra cash on.

While the sum of your site may represent your best work (or not), your site gives me the impression it was just something thrown together and uploaded to the net with your crossing your fingers and waiting for the sales to pour in.

I'd sh*t can the whole thing and start with a major facelift with more pleasing colors and tones (example did you know that certain colors actually stimulate the brain and subtly influence people's actions? ...green isn't one of the colors that stimulate people to do what you need them to do on your site!).

After the major face lift, I'd get back to the basics with SEO and marketing. Example, in addition to traditional SEO techniques, hammer your local Craigslist market with your ticket site (or go regional or where the concerts are going to be). That's just one example.

And please don't take anything I wrote as me trying to be mean or me being a prick. This business is hard work and it's competitive. Only those that pay attention to detail and offer up quality above and beyond what others are offering (and are able to market and get their site's/products out there) survive and prosper. The rest die and/or spend their time dreaming about success.

All good tips by GMD. I'll also add that the content is poorly written. I am a huge NFL fan and it was a little tough for me to read. I would maybe try to outsource an article or two to throw on there.

    Just trying to help.

Simply put, being at #3 for a keyword that only gets 200 searches a month means you are going to get very little traffic and little chance of conversions.

doesnt look like a site where i can buy something honestly.

if i want to buy i would be looking for something like an ecommerce site or at least a page that looks like it or a portal.
    not a blog.

i wouldnt buy tickets from a blog.

    thats just me.

All good reasons above, but # 1 reason is probably that

nobody is searching for "event" tickets.

They are searching for "discount U2 tickets new york"
    and
    "justin bieber ticktes for toronto"
    and
    "Superbowl tickets"

etc etc ...... you're ranking for the wrong OFFER.

    ================
Also, I don't think the site looks trustworthy.
Need to show some people with tickets and event photos.

I don't know where you're located but here in the UK there has been alot on the news lately about "scam" ticket sales sites on the internet and people are alot more cautious.

People tend to go with the most reputable and known ticket sites, and to be honest yours doesn't look very trustworthy..

    take care
