Is moving your "List" between managers easy?

Hi,
I haven't started using any of the programs yet, but before I did, I wanted to make sure that I do the right thing. Would moving lists from one manager to another be simple or difficult. If I started with say mailchimp and then wanted to move the list to aweber, would I find alot of snags along the way? Or would they just be simple copy and paste? Thanks!

Anthony

You can just e-mail aWeber and they take care of the move for you. I've used both and overall I like aWeber the best.

I haven't personally done it but I heard that everyone in the list would have to reconfirm subscription (opt in again) when you make moves like that.

I think if you move the list you would have to send out a conformation email so they get added to your aweber list.

it's not as simple as copy and paste... depends on your autoresponder you move your list into..

Because larger companies like aweber will need more data before you can import your list, they will need you to have not only the emails, but they will need you to have the optin dates, IP, etc...

Just ask your potent autoresponder you want to sign up.

"Snags" is putting it too mildly, Anthony.

Many people find it close to impossible to do, without losing a high proportion of their list (some have said here that it's been as high as 75% - have a good, thorough look with the forum's search function - and what you find will make your hair stand on end), and it's really not a good idea at all to plan to do this.

GetResponse doesn't charge anything at all until you have 100+ people on your lists. Aweber charges $1 for the first month and $19 per month after that. If you're not making $20 after 2 months, it isn't really a business at all. Don't start off by planning to "move your list": it just doesn't work that way.

      Hi Anthony,

When moving a list, you can ask our compliance team at GetResponse to test it so that you don't have to reconfirm the subscribers via email. Just contact our support team and they can help.

      Regards,
