Has anyone had any luck with press releases? I have a e-book on kindle and about to post another one and I want to get the word out about them.

I have seen a number of companies claiming they can do this or that for a nominal fee, but do any of them actually work? With so many out there, can anyone suggest a company that they have actually used with good results. Also, I have read alot about free press releases. Do these actually work (of course free is always great, but I have learned that alot of freebies isnt worth the time it takes to sign up) If anyone has used free press releases, a heads up on the good ones would be greatly appreciated too!

Thanks Warriors!!

A press release can be very effective. But the type of press release you are talking about, from service providers that sell you press release submissions for a one time fee, are only really good to make your product look like it is being talked about online encase someone wanted to search for your product on a search engine.

What you can do is find every website in the same niche as your kindle product and propose to do a guest post, or pay for a blog post that will in-directly advertise your product, or pay for a blog post that recommends your kindle product.

You can always make use of those Newletter service providers for one time 'word out' release of your e-book w/ also one-time fee. I think this kind for me is effective. Just make sure you select the provider w/ your niche carefully so you're release is effective. Just a suggestion.
