Are there any decent graphics/web designers out there?

I'm not here looking for services, so I assume I won't need to post in the Warriors for Hire forum?

    When i want quotes I head off to odesk and open up a project...

    You get a pretty quick idea of what its going to cost you

    Jayne,

    Dont forget the good old Fiverr.com as I had incredible services like logo and web design professionally done at an amazingly low price. Just look for service providers that have good ratings i.e. more than 10 jobs completed and 100% positive feedback from all the clients.

        I am not. Honestly. But your wording in the OP... anyway:

        I am an experienced designer. What you need to know? Hourly rate? Starts at 40€ per hour- that's Euros, not Us Dollars. Then we apply other things like project deadline, how many revisions, is this a past customer or not (discount applies), and so many other things.

        What you need to know? Anything else?

      Really hard to do this because quotes can vary both based on the designers skill and experience and also the client you are supplying the work to. And even with clients with big wallets, they aren't always prepared to pay a lot of money for your work.

      I tend to purely charge based on the time something takes me to complete, if its going to take me a few days to complete I charge my rate for that.

      Other factors include how urgent the work is, for example I received a call from a potential client needing something completed the following day. It meant putting other work on hold and staying up late into the night. The quote for this was much higher than if they needed it in a few weeks.

      Either way, there are quite a few factors involved when doing quotes.

    We could either establish a meaning-full conversation here for both of us to reach 50 posts, or.. mail would do it.

    If I get it right, you're looking for someone to estimate the worth of your web-site, right?

    Well, it shouldn't be a big deal, mailing the URL to people, who know a little something about it, you will receive a couple of different guesses, eliminate those off the chart and count the average price.

    I could take a look at your site, I will gladly do it, but I'm not a professional programmer, my experience are based on numerous projects I worked on with other people, who were designing it for me, I know, how much I paid them, so I can try to take a guess.

    But important thing is, you might even receive different rates from even professional designers, this can vary a lot and you need to take that into an account.
