e-commerce question (for e-commerce experts)

Hey warriors,

One of my clients asked me a question about his e-commerce sites. I don't have a clue in this field, so your help would be appreciated.

He has a problem with order management. He wants to automate the process of sending info/email to suppliers.

I think he can do this with a CMS, but your input will help me a lot.

Also, he has a problem with tax issues when people buy from different States.

    There are many ways to do it
    1)Set Auto responder like awber,mailchamp,get responce etc
    2)If Shopping cart is custom made - hire a developer and add features like New Letter management etc using this you can send then welcome messages
    4)One Advance feature is you can do it using payment getway IPN

    Its pretty simple to get automation in place. Setting it up is technical and he or you may need to hire someone for that part, but it shouldn't be a big deal.

    The tax issue is really a matter for an accountant. If he uses a CMS though it should be easy to print off sales from in/out of the country and have the book keeper keep track of it.

    I would suggest you to see this list of shopping carts and it will solve out your all problems....

    OsCommerce
    ZenCart
    TomatoCart

    All have a mailing list feature, Tax Zones and Shipping zones as well... Also you can maintain the bulk order discounts as well

      I think he is using a custom made shopping cart, but I'll ask him to make sure.
