If I was just starting out I'd do my market research, create a free report or video that helps your target customer, put it behind a squeeze page so they have to opt-in to receive it. Then I'd promote that squeeze page by guest blogging, social media, and some solo ads/ad swaps when you're ready.

Dan's got a great point. Find a niche and build a list. Don't bombard them with sales pitches, take time to establish a relationship. Targeted and responsive list is a great source of buying traffic, which is what you need for success.

Get a website and an autoresponder. Then promote affiliate products, disguising your links of course. Focus on the top ways to get traffic: article marketing, ppc, video marketing, forum marketing, seo, and social marketing.

Make a to do list. Also, you can browse internet and this forums to find free ebooks on some methods and them might give you an idea to make one yourself or do that from ebooks.

Set up a squeeze page to capture emails.

Then you can either buy solo ads to promotoe it or you can choose free ways such as marketing with social media or have a site seo'ed then have the link to the squeeze page on there.

If you have money to invest then this whole process is going to be 10x easier!

Create some affiliate products review sites/blogs. It works for me.

Build a list. Regardless of anything else you do, build a list. It really is where the money is.

and start getting damn good at it. That's how you're going to be able to come up with awesome products, emails to your subscribers and future join ventures.
