The fastest we were able to do it was 5 days... at 18 hours a day. With that being said... There was a lot of work that went into the planning process over a 30 day window.

By taking the time to create a STRATEGIC PLAN, the Execution was able to be accomplished in 5 days.

It's not the time it takes to create but rather the End Product and it's value.

I have another product in the SMS Industry that took 14 months and 10 hr days 6 days a week to get to the marketplace... It's not easy delivering value to the end customer...

One year for creation of core products. I can create a hot seller within 24 hours now. What I do is survey my customers and determine their flavour needs. The data is then examined and VOILA! A new chocolate appears.

I created my first product in about three days - meaning three full days of hard work, not three days of screwing around with it here and there. I've created products which took a bit longer since then, but I also have a process in place now by which I could create that same original product in about one day if I had to do it again.

Of course, how fast a product can be created really depends on what kind of product you're talking about. As a creator of Ebooks, I have an easier time than someone who creates complicated software, for example.

That is pretty quick isn't it? I wonder if one can create a very short eBook and have as a bestseller for a few bucks. 10000 sales at $3 bucks instead of 1000 at $30 bucks would be crazy!

I think this is a good idea.. Create a product with lots of value but short where you can create it over the weekend and sell 1000 of them..

I would even shoot for $1 to get them on your list, these people are people with credit cards and would buy your next product if you really impressed them at only $1 and your next one could be your first wso for $7.. A few hundred at that rate can add up really quickly..

Nope, it would actually be a bad idea. Unfortunately, there's not enough buyers in the WSO marketplace to achieve 10x more sales. If your offer is really good, whether you place it for $7 or $1 won't drastically impact the number of sales you'll make. But it will impact the amount of money you'll make.

I created an ebook in about 9 full days of work (~70 hours overall). But those days were not one after another as I was testing parts of the product to make sure I was doing something valuable for buyers.

The hardest, and longest, part is though the research before the actual production of content: finding out what other products are out there, forging your offer, positioning your product against others in that marketplace, really understanding the customer etc.

That is the longest part of product creation. If you have all that down already - great. Then the production process is quicker. If you don't.. then it takes more time to create a selling product (especially if you don't have a list for whatever reason).

I have produced and co-produced over 200 products. This is totally different. Not trying to create pre-launch buzz amongst the Warrior nation but when this is revealed, everyone will see why it has not only taken 14 years but will never be 100% completed.

I am an internet marketer. Haven't you heard? WE only work 4 hours a week .. most of that is just counting our money.

I could have posted it on Odesk and had it finished in a day and a half. But The Headline "Super Marketer Reveals Secret That Only Took Non English Speaking VA 24 Minutes To Place On Every File Share Site On The Planet! Just doesn't sizzle as well as the 14 years in the making scenario.

The project will never be complete because of the wealth of new information coming in daily.

Just this week I learned that people have a burning desire to be lied to. Read it right here on the forum. Had to rewrite all of chapter 217 over that one fact alone.

Just about bed time a couple of nights ago, I learned Google had died and took article marketing along with it. Must of been a hell of a crash as it is rumored EZA is still alive but sports a terrible limp. I know for a fact ... they thought they were buckled in.

With pertinent information updating at such alarming rates .. it may take a full 20 years to get all the updates but as soon as I get an answer on my single vs double opt in thread, that is decisive, I will get the buyers on a list and send them information on how to obtain these updates at a special warrior price.

This sounds like Jason Fladlien territory. He's currently selling a course on rapid product creation - looks great but a bit beyond what I'm prepared to pay.

My first product (non-IM niche) took me 30 days to create. It would normally take someone 3 months to create it but because I set myself an incredibly strict deadline (I was flying out to Brazil with barely any money so had to get it launched and make it successful).

I'm a big advocate for these deadlines. If you think something will take you a week try and get it done in 2 days. Seriously. It removes inaction and procrastination on tasks that are not really adding value. In his course Jason is advocating 1 day products after he saw he was wasting to much time on 2 day products and not getting them finished.

Your other choice is also to create products on the move. Get people into a webinar and create the product there and then by talking them through it. Can't get more efficient with your time than that but you better know your stuff or people will see right through you!

Yes I viewwed jasons webinar a good one, he suggsts one problem, one solution and one sitting , all work done in 2 hours .... he also showed thats how he created his first product about 7 minute article writing which sells to date.. So even if it takes a bit longer initially it is a asset and no mmatter what we do in IM product creation has ti be on the radar..

I make my living from clickbank.

Sometimes we have created products within a week, sometimes it takes 8 months...depends on your target market...but here is a keyword you need to focus on with your products.

    QUALITY.

Yes I have bought some products about 8 pages long for $30 dollars...but I would have paid about $1000.

But there are others that I have paid for $97 and it is not worth a single cent.

People love quality products. If you can do this, you can really hit it home.

Do not worry about how long it takes, a good product can go viral, and word of mouth can spread, like it does for good IM products in here in the IM niche. SO think quality before quantity. A good killer product that takes month to make is far better than putting out products every single week like you see some do, that is not the way to win this game.

I've created two information products. The first one is a 80 page report for Avon Representatives on getting more orders which took me about 30 days to create and finalize. Another product is a booklet (16 pages) that took about 2 weeks to create because the research involved was more intense that I had expected. I worked 8 hours a day more or less (weekends too) on that booklet.

As you can see from the experienced posters here...some can crank out a product in no time flat, as they are focused and driven while others are used to fine-tuning their products and taking a more scenic route to the end-product.

Neither of my products are successful as I have not released them yet but the key is just to sit down, plan out your thoughts and start producing! And last, I like andreaskam's thoughts...set a strict deadline and get crack-a-lacking. :-)

Yes indeed -- planning, mind mapping, outlining, blueprinting -- call it what you will but I believe it's one of the major keys to rapid product creation. The other key ingredient is BACKGROUND and EXPERIENCE. When you know your subject well, creating a short information product quickly is much easier. If you have to do a lot of research before you can flesh out the golden details -- it will take you a lot longer, naturally.

Start with a topic you know well and you're off to the races. Of course, the more you know about the marketplace, the better.

Build a list of questions about your topic potential buyers would most want to know. Collect lots of questions and then choose the top 21 and make that your rough outline. Then have someone you know interview you, asking each question and giving you a 3-5 minute window to provide a complete, to-the-point answer for each.

Record the interview and have it transcribed. In about an hour (after you mapped out those questions) you'll have the raw, unedited first edition of a solid report.

You're so right, Robert. My first product (Clickbank e-book) was created in about 3 weeks - research, writing, sales letter, launch. I decided to go with my area of expertise, and of course that also added credibility to the sales letter and testimonials.

Not a bad idea for newbies to make their first product something they know, if there's a market out there. (Even if it's not a very big market, the experience is so useful for the next product.)

it takes me about 1-2 weeks to create a product. esp if its video. well even pdf reports take a long time because you have to write it all.

don't try to create them too quickly. the quality has to be there. if you rush a product and it's crap, your customers won't like it and you'll ruin your rep. so be careful.

take your time. but don't take forever!

Anywhere from 3-days to 3-months, it does get faster the more experience you have and the more in tune with your niche market you are.

My last infoproduct was a summary of Q&A I had collected from subscribers, coaching clients and members - took me a few hours to package them up, another couple of hours to add some examples/case studies and format. After that, it was organizing my affiliates to announce to their lists.

We also manage several membership sites that take 3-5 hours each week to maintain - different model, but recurring income.

You want great products, but you also want to make sure you are spending time on marketing - product creation isn't worth it if nobody knows what you have done.
