Promoting an affiliate program

Other than posting in forums and such, what is the best way to promote my affiliate program? All of the ads are designed, and more are being designed, but I'm not sure what other ways are out there to promote other than posting in forums. One feature though, is a recurring vs 1 time payout...

    I think many of the usual promotion methods that we use for websites would apply here as well, especially social networking.

    You could do social networking, build a network around your program.

      There are affiliate program directories you can advertise on. Just google affiliate program directory. You can also use service like Commission junction or clix Galore.

        I'll look into this more. We have a FB page, but only update it with specials/blog posts etc.

        I'll look into these as well. Commission junction didn't cross my mind.

          A great way to promote your affiliate program is through joint venture marketing. This is something which may seem impossible at first glance. After all, when you're just started out, you might think you don't have much to exchange in terms of resources.

            Thank you. I will keep that in mind. At the moment, in order to keep finances in line, a recurring based commission is the only thing offered. $25 payout minimum balance, 60 day (fraud screening) etc. Commission is 25% of each referred sale.
