Saw a thread somebody made about Amazon cancelling random accounts, changing policies etc..

Just want to know before I start with them.

Are they reliable?

No it's not. It's like any other Int monoply you'll be left sweating every day your accounts are still held. Try it....I.M.H.O. it's not worth the effort any more.

AS, SEO,Ebay, CPA.....all fit the same boat.

    Hi

Well right now i am at my witts end with affiliate marketing....so maybe I am not the best to ask.

But you have little control. Talk about building money on quick sand. I won't be bothering from now on in.

Good luck though... You'll need it.

If you play by the rules you are ok, but there are many other companies you can go with, also most of the big high street retailers have affiliate programs going that you can sign-up for and pay better rates than Amazon

I would agree with the above post. Like all major retailers they are obliged to follow the rules. Read their terms and conditions for affiliates and follow them to the letter. Never spam in their name or conduct practices that would bring them into disrepute or attempt to pass yourself off as Amazon and you will be ok!

I would rather go with CPA instead of Amazon.Easier ,and there is lots of good reliable affiliate networks for CPA.

Just remember being an affiliate you basically give all control to the main source. If (when) they make policy changes you have to change as well. No matter how painful that is to you. They will always look after them-selves first.

Consider if it worth your time end effort.

Amazon is very reliable! Take a few minutes to read their policies when signing up as an affiliate. One of the areas that they enforce heavily is trademark infringement. So PLEASE do no setup domains with product names in the TLD.

    Ok thanks guys.

I'll try Amazon, but I'll be wary of it and the policies.

    Yes, they are reliable.

Like all big affiliate programs they have their rules though. It is up to you to understand those rules and to run your business in such a way that overworked, underpaid drones at Amazon (or any other affiliate network) don't interpret - or misinterpret - your actions as being against them.

Most of the threads you will read about big bad Amazon are from people who have somehow done something that Amazon thinks is against their TOS. They complain that their accounts have been shut down and imply that somehow Amazon are in the wrong in their case.

    That's life.

For most people the Amazon affiliate program works just fine.

Worrying about such things is a sure-fire way of stopping yourself from getting started.

Successful Internet marketers (and I guess successful people in any field) worry about things that ARE happening to them, not about things that MIGHT happen in the future because they MAY have happened to someone else under questionable circumstances.

    Thanks Martin.

I'm just going to go for it, and read the TOS carefully.

I just signed with Amazon yesterday as an affiliate - am still waiting for them to process my application.

I read the associates TOS yesterday - there doesnt seem to be anything too bad in there.

I just hope they dont have any expectation of expecting me to be selling a certain amount (numbers or dollars) of product within a specified period of time. That I cannot promise and I wont be spamming anyone just to make that target.
