Do You Require CVC on Credit Cart Transactions? Is it Necessary?

Hey Guys,

I'm using Infusionsoft ...

I can choose to require the CVC code or not.

I'm curious, is it necessary?

What do you do?

    It will make things a LOT cheaper for you - partic regarding chargebacks and fraud.

    You should absolutely use the "CVC" option. It's just another wall protecting you between legitimate transactions and fraud. In the online world the CVC is actually a "check" to see if the person is in physical possession of the credit card.

    It's obviously not foolproof, but the industry standard is that if you input your credit card details along with the CVC, the CVC number is supposed to "prove" (or make it more likely) that it's the owner of the card who has physical possession of it initiating the transaction.

    By all means use this option.

    "CVC" option is a good way to protect the card holder's right and it will make the transaction to process safely.so i encourage all people to use the cvc option to prevent fraud.

    The cause for using CV2 will often be dictated by the merchant gateway. Check the terms of your merchant account agreement to see how they process transactions differently with CV2/CVC verification.

    However, if it's only a few cents difference per transaction and you find that you have loyal customers, I personally wouldn't bother. Make it easy.

    CVC is a good option to prevent fraud and chargebacks...which could ultimately get your account shut down. Definately use it.
